Seriously, stop. You just make a fool of yourself,
Heatley and a 5th for Michalek....ya it is working for ottawa so far, but you are saying that isn't a miss management of assets?

Anyways too bad for the cheech, was hoping he could turn it back around in ottawa.

Just for the records..........

For the case someone picks him up..
Does it mean Ottawa has to carry half of his salary??

thats not true at all

His Scoring title can be summed up by Thornton but the guy was a 25-35 goal scorer on his own.

Technically we got a 2nd in there as well. That should even it up according to HF right?

Not at this point, only if he clears waivers the first time and the Sens recall him and put him on re-entry waivers.

No, that's only if the Sens put him on re-entry waivers.

Nope, that would be the case on re-entry waivers.

Is Setoguchi far behind?

Not the 50+ goal guy Cheech was, but having a very tough year considering the talent that team sports.

The Joe Thornton effect

Actually from Edmonton, but not an oilers fan.

Even though I do have Penner on my fantasy team and he would look far better in ottawa!

This really sucks, but it's necessary.

Cheechoo's a great guy, gives 110% every time he's on, never complains about his role... he just can't do it anymore after those injuries. I'd keep him around at less than a million, but at that salary, you just can't justify it.

Too bad.

It's not like another trade was turned down by Heatley, its not like he only had a few teams he'd accept a trade to, it's not like he publicly requested a trade, its not like we have 19 more points and this time than we did last year... If the team is better who cares?

Whatever... Yuh-yuh-yuh-yooo got a guh-guh-gooood buh-buh-buh-buh-brainnnn

Id say it might be a little more of a "sophmore slump" even though he's not fully considered a sophmore. Id wait till this time next year before saying that to be honest. Sometimes youngsters just go through a season of hard times and readjustment. Cheechoo is a little older for that to be considered the case.

I actually made a thread for it on the Sens board
Think it's worth a bump?

I think they're a bit different. Cheechoo's issue was injuries and that he wasn't a good skater. Seto is a good skater.

It's what happens when a 7.5 million dollar player with a NTC demands a trade but only chooses one team that he'll go to.

We definitely didn't get close to fair value back, but in the situation Heatley put the team in, you couldn't expect us too. This is why Heatley is a ***** and worse than Yashin. Hopefully he bombs in the Olympics and follows it up with a brutal playoffs. Maybe he'll ask for another trade...

He won't get picked up off waivers, re-entry waivers maybe. Ottawa will have to take salary back if they want to get rid of him.

I will welcome him Colorado if Ottawa will please take Preissing back. They are both under contact for next year, and have similar cap hits.

Wow. I feel sorry for the guy. I'm sure he knew his numbers weren't great and that was probably affecting his confidence but I can't imagine what he's thinking now.

I totally agree Ottawa was in a bad situation, and wasn't trying to stir up **** or anything (probably should of added a bit more to my first post). Just tough to look at a trade of a Superstar (if not a whiny one) for Michalek, who in his own rights is a good player, but not quite on the same level as Heatley.
