I'm with you. I'm not even sure this deal would be acceptable if we forced them to take Staios too? Now if they took Horcoff....

That's why you're 18th in an 18-team fantasy hockey league.

His play talks. He has proved he is a lazy individual. Nevermind the rest of the brutal cast he plays with.

Smid, Visnovsky, Gagner, Cogs give it their all no matter what.

I would even call Hemsky lazy. 1260 guys proved it. This guy doesn't work on his game at all.

I would say his recent slump was due to him being worn-out.

In the past, I guess you can say that. Players do mature, though.......

Speaking of 18th, Penner's tied with patrick Kane for 18th in the league in goals. He's done this playing on the worst team in the league, 27, a good defensive player, and good on the PP. And he's signed for 2 more years.

The Oilers are not required to trade him. Hell even in the Trade Rumours boards people are offering more than Ottawa's spare parts. That's the same package people were rumouring for Visnovsky. Lee + Kelly + 2nd is the new Halak, Higgins, 2nd.

Not suprised with Cheechoo's fate. There is something dreadfully wrong with his left leg. Knee, ankle, hip...I don't know...but its going to cost him his NHL career,IMO.

I hope the Rumors surrounding Penner are false, it would be stupid to trade our Only BIG forward and one that is coming into his prime. I would rather the Oilers did Nothing at all before they did something like this!

I don't disagree with you 100%, but Penner doesn't have that inner fire/drive.

He is lazy. He's worn out right now.

He doesn't even condition himself properly.

That's BS. Penner has the same face all the time no matter what. Doesn't mean he doesn't care. I think he's been moving pretty well this year. Once he get to full speed no one can stop him. He's also been playing a lot more and he's carrying the team by himself now with Gagner out. I say cut him some slack we have far worse problems.

I believe he's never failed a physical.

Send a message via MSN to Vagabond
They will all clear except for maybe Lundmark.. due to them all underachieving and sucking the big one.

I wonder if the plan is for Edm to claim Cheechoo who has one more year and a cap hit of 3M off of waivers, then turn around and trade Penner to Ottawa for the rumored package?

I'm not even talking about a scientific physical.

He just doesn't have that "drive"

He has spurts of it here and there.

you are kidding right? He has 24 goals, that ties him for 18th in the league with Kane, Carter and Neal. He is respective +3 on the worst team in the league. Give the man a break, he is one of the Oilers best players at the moment. Trading him would be just plain Stupid! If Tambo does this, he should be fired!

The only player out of the three waived that should be picked up is Lundmark.

Make space for Kovalchuk, for this offseason, in February? Yeah not so much.

That makes very very little sense. If you're going to move/waive Cheechoo for cap space for Kovalchuk, you really don't have to do in now.

I should also add that if Hemsky was not injured I think Penner would be at least a PPG player. Hemmers Injury has hurt the team in terms of Offense.

True. I thnk Penner is the best fit for Hemsky on this team as was obvious last year when everyone and their dog was tried out with Hemmer. I see nothing wrong if a player produces more with another you can call it mooching but I'll call it Chemistry.
