Not a snowball's chance in hell we should take a flyer on him at that hit. From the other thread, my thoughts on Cheechoo:
Starting to think Cheech has some off ice problems. That or he's a true one season wonder. He has just plummeted off the charts. It's one thing if you go from that 50G season to scoring 28G or whatever. You still have some value then but he just completely disappeared. Even when given a change of scenery and playing for two talented teams. When you go from that to scoring 5G in 61 games, something is seriously, seriously wrong.
Someone correctly added that it might have something to do with prior surgeries impacting his play but I'm not really familiar with what procedures he went through. Either way, bad idea.
any of you cap guru's (seriously) know what his pro rated hit would be, and what we would have to waive or trade to fit him in?
This could be a perfect reclaim. I have a hard time believing 56 goals just happens on a lucky hot streak.
I agree. He was playing with Big Joe during his 56 goal rocket richard winning season. next season he kind of tailed off. before you know it Devin Setoguchi was the new kid in town. And of course the Heatley trade
Sharks fans would know more about this, but I heard he got an injury that really hampered his play. Even in the year before Thornton he got 28 goals. It really is amazing to think that he got 93 points one year, though.
Proof that linemates DO influence your point totals, and quite significantly sometimes!
He was money for one or two seasons, but based upon his numbers the last couple years, I want no part of this guy on the Pens. There's going to be a few people that say the whole "On Sid's line, he would be awesome" bit.
