Did you see his fight against Bancks the other day? Call it a decision to bancks, but it was a great fight for both guys! Who else in junior scores and plays physical like Schenn? 22 points in 14 games since the WJC

sbtatter, I assume you see Schenn with regularity?
If so, do you happen to know if he is growing? He looks quite big or at least bigger than 6'0 (hockeydb).

Concerning his game, how has he developed this season? Has he developed more or less than expected? Has his play picked up after the WJC or is it similar to before the tournament? I see his points are up but how has he been in all zones?

What is your opinion concerning his upside? Is it closer to 1C or 3C?

Finally, do you think his game is NHL ready for 10-11?

Thankful for a response.

I was impressed by just how technical of a fight Schenn showed us there. He knew what he was doing as opposed to closing his eyes and throwing.

He is definetly stronger this year, and his parents say he will grow a little more yet.
His game has been way better in all zones since the WJC, where, by the way, as an 18 year old in a 19 year old tourney he got 8 points in games (more than Toews or Stamkos did in their 18 year old year) and only on the ice for 1 goal against. He has been dominant since returning, he was disappointing after he was returned by the Kings last fall, he really wanted to make that team.
His upside is turning into a physical Thornton, more of a passer than a scorer, he really does have elite vision and passing, but only average speed, he skates more like Tavares than Duchene. He plays the game with an attitude and swagger similar to Messier played when he's on top of his game....
Is he ready for the NHL? I don't know, being as though he's barely going to be 19 to start the season and plays such a physical game, he would benefit from 1 more year in juniors. But I think it's 95% certain the Kings will keep him in the NHL.

He's an overager with good speed, a nose to go to the dirty areas to score and a good chippy attitude. He'd be worth a look in the AHL as a start, he's a sniper

For a 1 game emergency amateur try out against Vancouver hey.
What do you guys think will be best for the Kings, bring him up next year or leave him in junior for 1 more year?

Me personally, I would let the kids develop slowly and let them mature and then bring em' up. I hate rushing prospects unless they are truly ready. I'm glad the Kings sent him down this year. Give him another year of Juniors.

I give him another year in Juniors. No rush. Hell, if it takes 2 more years there, that is fine.

That's going to depend how He looks in camp this year and how much if any He still has to learn in Juniors.
