No kidding. I bet we miss countries marching in because of the commercials.

Like I understand how the organizers want this to go so perfectly and all but I mean come on, make it real, to many lip syncing situations have taken place at big events lately...

i might be alone on this, be so far this ceremony is pretty disappointing. im hoping for something cool to happen soon, an orca costume or something. i think china may have set the bar too high for opening ceremonies, everything will pale in comparison.

i like at the start when the cheifs/leaders (?) of the respective tribes werent in the booth with the prime minister, governor general and the IOC pres. yeah, no big deal, just the biggest thing to happen in canada in a really long time, dont bother showing up on time.

edit: cool stuff seems to be starting now

Live music is great. It's a little different every time and a little rusty. That's why people go to concerts. It's annoying when they pre-record stuff like that.

no, because when i was watching it it looked like a complete disaster. no one seemed to know what was going on, empty seats all over. they didnt even mention the prime minister.....

and after they showed that mess, one of the commentators apologized for it looking so confused because the leaders hadnt arrived yet and that they would be arriving shortly.

even if it was to set up the 4 tribes entering soon after, it looked really bad. and the leaders of the tribes wouldnt be down on the floor participating in the dances etc. they would be up with the other important people.

I believe he meant that the tribal leaders did it on purpose, but I could be wrong.

yeah i know, i just cant imagine a reason as to why you would arrive late to the opening ceremonies intentionally. especially when your culture is going to be the focal point.

All I can say is, thank goodness for Twitter. My household has been making fun of this show all night. Seeing all the Twitter posts have really made my night. Hilarious stuff.

@wyshynski (Puck Daddy) is on a roll.

"Fashionably late" is all I can really think of.

Would be extremely childish, but I am kinda suspicious at the fact all 4 were late and arrived at the same time.
