You need a much longer title - this thread will get lost.

You can hire me as your marketing director.

In the US I believe they're delayed until like 7:30pm on NBC.

LS posted that you can find a live stream on the NBC olympic website. Or if you can get Canadian TV you can watch live on CTV, Rogers Sportsnet, and TSN when things get started at about 6pm

EDIT: Also, I swear to god I'm going to gag if Tim Horton's doesn't stop trying to sell us doughnuts with schmaltzy "canadiana" stories that happen to involve Tim's coffee or pastries. At the rate they're going it's not going to be the sugary treats they sell that'll give me diabetes, it'll be the commercials.

Thanks Nem.. I tried Googling it but couldn't find any information. That's interesting that it'd delayed till 730, but I can just wait.

There you go DavidTracksuit. There are 4 Armenian athletes at the games. (they're counting the turnout for each country as they enter the stadium.)

Ok, the Czech team's strategy appears to be to use their pants to cause every other team to suffer seizures and be unable to compete.

Will they show it all though? Knowing NBC, they'll probably hack it down an skip a bunch of countries in the intro.

Team Russia's coach Igor Zakharkin said that Nabokov and Bryzgalov will share ice time during the round-robin:

I'm waiting for the 7:30 start too. Wanna see it in HD.

Can you guys believe they will be showing the gold medal (hockey) game with tape delay too?
I guess I'll be watching it online.

Way to go Bryan Adams. Totally tip off to everyone that your song is pre-recorded. Idiot.

At least he can take solace in the fact that everyone will be staring at Nelly Furtado's ridiculously tight dress and not him, so chances are a bunch of people never noticed.

Very sad about that Georgian Luge athlete. NBC National showed the crash. He went from 90mph to zero when he went off track and was stopped by a steel I beam support at the top of the exit. Its really a pretty disturbing video so was surprised they showed it. When he stopped, he never moved.

and now we reach the part of the ceremony where it helps if you're on mind-bending drugs.

(I make these comments now knowing that it should be fun for some people to see them match up with what they've just started watching and are like 90 minutes behind on)

Was thinking the same. Can't believe they showed that video. It was pretty much video of someone dying...

I'll use spoiler tags now just in case some people don't want to know what's coming.

Spoil:
ahh, the fine Canadian tradition of fiddling.

As a Canadian, let me be the first to say:

lolwut?

Ok yeah, in the maritimes and maybe the maritime-bordering parts of Quebec, but they act like this is some sort of great national pride in fiddling. It's like "ok we did all the native stuff and we've still got 2+ hours to fill, anyone got any ideas? Fiddling? Tap dancing? Sure, why not. What's that? Dress the performers like punk/hardcore newfie metal lumberjacks? Even better!"

WTF is NBC doing? Show the damn ceremony!

BTW Nem, I hope you don't mind me stealing your design (partially).

Well, I'm thinking that the real ceremony started about 6pm (which means 9pm) and with a 7:30 NBC start, we'll get "welcome to Canada" stories and ski jumping until the start.

Maybe America is growing up. Life is not a video game and not showing it's brutal side along with the joy and triumph has always bugged me.
