CBC doesn't have the olympics this year. It's some weird convergence of CTV/TSN/Sportsnet/a bunch of cable channels. I was watching on CTV.

In my defence, I have no idea what you guys would and wouldn't be behind on. I mean, we just saw the 1500m speed skating final, but you apparently saw it quite a while ago.
Sucks the schedules are so different. I am gonna have to avoid the thread Tuesday if I wanna watch the US Hockey game when I get home from work. But then that's around the time Canada will be playing Norway.
I shoulda took this week off.

We haven't seen the finals yet either, just the first heat runs.
there's only like a half dozen Canadians on this board, so it's not really worth it. I'm just going to have to wait and reserve comments until later in the evening when most stuff should be finished.
We will have separate hockey threads for the games I believe. Just sayin there is so much on and it will get harder and harder to watch live and BS with ya'll.
The sport is lame though. If they went at the same time, it'd be fun... but I really can't differentiate in moguls...
I don't quite understand the moguls either, you get a flawless run and can loose because someone is faster, or you can get a superfast run and lose because someone was better in the technical, and then the air is the cool part but it seems like that score is very small compared to the speed score and the technical score. It's kind of confusing and hard to understand why one run is better than some other run.

The Canadian broadcast broke it down. 50% of your score is for the technical aspects of the skiing (ie how cleanly you go through the moguls) 25% is for the speed, and 25% is for your aerial ability (trick difficulty/proficiency, jump height, landing, etc)

Its like a lot of sports where you get style points and are timed.... ski jumping is like that and so is ice dancing, ice skating, etc
So apparently, Armenians participate in Alpine skating and Cross-country skiing; and all 4 suck. Please take my country out of the standings to save the embarrassment.

I get a feeling moguls is simular to figure skating in that you can never figure out what the judges are realling looking for and why one run/performance is really better than the others. Of course they are experienced judges and Im a casual observer.
This is kind of fun chatting to you guys about the olympics, I don't ususally participate in the GDT's because I'm concentrating on the game too much to read, type, and watch at the same time.
