So, when does Coburn get shipped out

For nearly two years now, his play has continually digressed, he's currently -9 for the season, yet for some reason or another, Coburn continues to get very good minutes (22:22 ice time per game). When does Holmgren and company say enough's enough and ship him out and bring up someone like Marshall or Bourdon or Lehtivuori? I mean, they can't be any worse than Braydon has been.

Marshall, Bourdon, and Lehtivuori might be far less than a minus 9 in the NHL right now for starters.

i think our defense is fine as suite as long as we continue to put up 3goals a game we shouldnt worry. Coburn playing down his potential an Parent being injured frequently should lead to them being easier and cheaper to resign

Those two guys and Maroon are the 3 guys I most want to see in a Flyers jersey, just so I can see what they bring to the game. Bourdon probably more than anyone.

Based on his numbers, Maroon doesn't bring much right now. it would be dumb to bring him up, he's played himself out of being callup.

I am fine with Coburn. He is only 24 years old, was the #8 pick in the draft, is 6'5" and has good skating legs. Braydon needs to improve his game in plenty of areas, but he can still be a good defenseman, as he has all the talent in the world. With Jones gone, he has become the new whipping boy. As long as he does not ask for a big contract, I am perfectly fine with him on teh roster.

Shipped for what? Guy probably doesn't have much value at this point.

Now that Carter has scored I guess Coburn and Hartnell are the only two to rip on. All makes sense, but he needs to get less minutes.

Who haven't we ripped on yet this season?

Still here:

Richards - Leadership issues. (check)
Carter - Scoring slump, laziness. (check)
Hartnell - Discipline. (check)
Gagne - Injuries. (check)
Briere - Salary. (check)
Timonen - Over the hill. (check)
Coburn - Regression. (check)
Pronger - Overpaid in trade. (check)
Holmgren - Asset/cap management. (check)

Gone:

Jones - Everything. (check)
Stevens - Lack of a system. (check)

Am I missing any that we've done?

A reduction of minutes could help, but it is not a reason to get rid of a 24 year old d-man. With Parent out, it is hard to reduce his minutes too much. Hopefully he will fit in better with Lavi, as he encourages his d-men to get more involved.

Carcillo for a while
Giroux was recently ripped on for his +/-
JVR has supposedly hit a wall...until last night.
Then Cote and Pyorala of course

I think that's all.

In the offseason if he asks for too much. The real solution is to give him fewer minutes.

So we're missing Laperriere, Betts, Asham, Bartulis, Syvret, Carle, and Laviolette this season?

Edit: And the goalies.

Carle- Dude can not even make Team USA
Betts- Can not keep his shoulder in its socket
Asham- Lack of Scoring
Bartulis- Can not even make the team out of camp
Syvert- Dude plays in the AHL and NHL..whatta joke
Laviolette- Guy can not turn around a team in under a week..give me Herb Brooks
Boucher- Will always be teh 2nd string goalie no matter who gets hurt
Emery- Guy can not play through an injury
Leightenon- 2 NHL teams in 1 year = FAILURE

Braydon was Homer's big steal it'd take a blockbuster to pull him away (or a new GM).

THANK YOU

Yes hes been having a horrible season, but so many people seem to forget hes still incredibly young. Defense is the slowest postion to develop. Most defensemen hit their prime around the age of 30.
