Krajicek won't be moved at this point, I think you'd sooner seen Bartulis sent back to the Phantoms before risking losing Syvret on waivers, but then again Holmgren doesn't think about those things.

Love this quote:

"Let's just say that it's easier to find the motivation to play," Briere said. "Obviously, having friends and family in the stands and everybody booing you, it gives you that little extra juice pumping in your veins, there's no doubt about it."

Official scorer rules that an error.

http://blogs.courierpostonline.com/f...-at-the-break/

Quote:
General manager Paul Holmgren has stated he would like to begin negotiations on a contract extension with Emery, but that might be a hollow promise considering Emery’s bouts with abdominal and hip injuries.
Despite the questions between the pipes the Flyers are unlikely to acquire a goalie before the trade deadline. Instead, they are likely to make a push for a goal scorer such as Ray Whitney. Without a first-round pick this year or next, both surrendered to Anaheim in the Chris Pronger trade, the Flyers will be hard-pressed to give any team a package that brings back a goal-scoring forward who can play alongside playmaking center Claude Giroux.

Don't we have a 1st round pick next year? Or am I wrong?

2010 was dealt to Anaheim.

2011 remains with the Flyers.

A conditional third in either 2010 or 2011 was traded.

The 2009 first round pick was involved.

I hope its 2010's third. Just so we can replenish our prospects with a 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round pick We are bound to grab 1 star? Right?

Great game/win. Nice fight by Lappy at the start. Congrats on Briere getting the hatty. Now if he could only do that every game....

Has anyone else noticed Flyers players sticks breaking on the PK? It just seems to be happening more often. Good thing they're doing a good job of not allowing anything around the crease.

I held my breath for a second there, O'byrne being such a big fella but Lappy clocked him right and proper.

So did MTL throw any hats?

This game was a good as we could have hoped for, I only wish this streak could go on. Hard to say if the team will carry it on in a couple weeks.

I was just pointed to this in my RSS via Broad Street Hockey. Sorry that it's a bit late.

Anyway, Canadiens writer declares his hatred for the Flyers, misspells Philadelphia, invokes Godwin's law and jinxes his team.

Quote:
There's not a franchise in sports I hate more than the Philadlphia Flyers.

Not the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Not the New York Yankees.

Not the Dallas Cowboys or L.A. Lakers.

No, you'd have to have an Olympic Games flashback to 1936 and watch the pride of Hitler's Germany marching into the Berlin stadium to match the feeling of revulsion I experience every time I see the Flyers play.

Especially against the Canadiens.
This was before this game btw.

Quote:
It will be different at the Bell Centre.

There is no way these cheap-shot thugs are taking two Ws in as many nights.

At least during the game he was honest and admitted the following:
Quote:
They're just better. They have more good players. What are you gonna do?

Great game, great hatter for Danny, Betts shorty was great, Carter continued scoring, Leighton played well. Only the PK was a bit bad giving up two goals (but also scoring one) but whatever. Good game, great win.

Edit: Hilarious T-Shirt is hilarious.

I'm fully convinced Pronger is the best defeseman in the league. 42 points and a +22 for a team that has gone through a lot of struggles this year. Nasty.

Great win tonight. Danny loves ripping up the habs

They didn't quite go that far I don't think (just looked at a few posts), but we've been much better compared to recent seasons. Laviolette has this team in much better shape and conditioning than we're used to seeing. The next time we play a game, it's going to have been over 2 months since we used a call-up at forward. Losing your starting goaltender offset that, but the Flyers are used to having their goalies stay in the lineup anyways.

I'm not saying Krajicek should be moved. Just pointing out the obvious in that we have too many serviceable d-men once Syvret and Parent come back.

I thought Bartulis would have to pass through waivers. I guess not?

If he's the only one that doesn't have to go through waivers then it would make sense. Hard to do when he's played so well for us and he's pretty much secured a spot in the future.

if Powe doesnt knock it off with his stupid penalties he is going to sit. That was a stupid, stupid hit on Plekanec last night.
Looked actually worse from the hit on friday night without the blood.
Powe has to be better then that to staple a guy into the boards like that.

Great game, great domination. Leighton just keeps getting the job done. I want to hate having him in nets, but ... It must be reverse psychology: after years of trying to shore up the G situation with potentials, wannabes and has-beens, the Flyers are having great success with a cast-off from (then) the last place team. We have the G version of the Jamaican Bobsled Team.

Is anyone surprised that the photo the Montreal Gazette features with the game write-up is Hartnell plowing into Price? Got to keep up the stereotype of this team as low-browed goons!
