Clearly Jones is in Trotz's doghouse. He has not been producing, when he has been on the ice it has been with the wrong personnel for his game, and as a result he tries to hard to get noticed and gets in the box sometimes. I would not be surprised to see him traded if anything can be had for him. I would also not be shocked to see him thrive on another team, either. Not saying for sure it will happen, just that it could.

I am as shocked as anyone that the Preds bested the Pens in a shootout. My doubts would not be on the net side but on the shooter side. Obviously, Ellis has been playing inspired hockey and Trotz was crazy (IMHO) not to ride it vs. the Devils the other night. regardless, I am glad Dan was in net today to give the fan base something good to remember until March 2, as we have had a belly full of disappointments in the past couple of weeks and needed something positive.

Hopefully all the injured and tired players can rest and rejuvenate during this break because the final sprint is going to be unbelievably hard now. The points cushion has bled away, and every team will come back will be clawing for each single point with desperation. 71 points, 7th place with 61 games played. Their first 7 conference games they play the Oilers, Kings, Wings, Canucks, Sharks, Ducks, Kings. So it does not get easier coming out of the break, this is why they needed points going INTO the break. My heart wants to be optimistic but my head is very pessimistic right now the way this team has played over the past month, unless something magically changes.

Question: Does anyone think the Olympics are messing with those players and they will play better once they are over?

Glennon reported late last night in his blog that Ellis didn't start due to a minor back strain sustained Wednesday night during his performance against the Rangers...

Stayed up all night playing mahjong, oh and Happy Chinese New Year all!

Nearly noon here and just got up and I can't believe my eyes. We beat the Pens, and in a shootout no less?

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO

Great win!

2 good periods, answered all their goals, and a great OT PK.

Wilson, Tootoo looked great, Legwand was great against Crosby.

Pens were 7-0 in shootout, Fleury had stopped 14/15...and Erat/O'Reilly/Ellis busted all that up!

The Pens first loss on Valentine's Day in like 40 years!

I love the Pens and I'm happy they got a point, but damn this was a great win we really needed!

Have you considered that it's not Nashville's job to develop Jones at all costs?

He goes through streaks of playing extremely well, and he gets rewarded for it. THen, he goes through streaks such as the one now, where he's just out there taking up space(and occasionally a bad penalty). You don't give someone icetime just because you want them to get better. He could learn a thing or two from Colin Wilson or Patric Hornqvist, at this point--work, get better, and good things will happen.

Not that it matters...i've got more than a sneaking suspicion that he'll be a part of whatever goes the other way in whatever deadline deal we make.
