Kapanen on defense

I swear I don't remember where I saw it or who said it, but I'm watching the game last night and there's Kapanen playing defense.

I know somebody said it would never happen even though Hitchcock said it might. Funny how things work out, don't you think?

First Therien won't be traded, and gets traded. Then Kapanen won't ever play defense, and he did. And Ottawa was going to win the east, and they lost in the first round and got their coach fired.

Predictions are funny, don't you think?

Even if all are healthy I could see Sami back there againt TB/Mon as they are overall a more speed forecheck approach team and Sami can handle that game. I hope he can get back to F against TO given the type of game and size factor. Looked solid last night though.

I say sit him. Kapanen was just fine on D. A completely healthy Johnsson is ten times more valuable than a Johnsson with a nagging injury that doesnt let him shoot the puck.

definitely agreed, even if we lose Game 2 (prediction....), a split at home without our best d-man isn't so bad and the way we somehow won Game 1 playing very badly IMO, we have a good chance at taking home Game 2.

Ihave to agree. I think we will win game two as well, plus take one in TO. However unlike NJ we will not win game 5 at home. We will win game 6 away. It's the only way the prophecy can be fullfiled.

If Flyers win game 2 on Sunday... I think KJ should sit until game 4 by then he should healty and ready to go and at the same time he will be well rested because he played the most mins in defense for the Flyers this year... I am also impress by Sami and the way he handled everything... I am glad we got him from Caronlina. This trade looks darn good to me ... By the way how is Pavel Brendl doing... Is he still in AHL .

He's been up and down all season. He seems to finally be getting it.

If the Flyers lose game 2, Johnsson has to come back as soon as he's good enough to go.

8 points in 18 games and plus 2 before going down with a season ending injury.

I never got the warm fuzzies watching Sami play back there. I think he did an admirable job, but I think Johnsson should get back in the lineup ASAP. He took some big hits.

Aside from injury, 8 points in 18 games is better than he was doing here.

That was probably because one of the Flyers announcers picked them and they're going to pick the guy they pumped up the most during the game.

indeed it was and I think that the plus-2 is probably another good think cause I think that practically all of carolina's roster is minus.

The Leafs failure to take advantage of the Flyers injuries on defense may be their ultimate downfall.

Leafs were clearly gunning for Kapanen. He was fast enough to avoid a lot of the hits, but he still got plastered a couple times. I think he's done pretty well, but he was getting out muscled in the corners, and that game tonight was all about the battles along the boards. I would much rather have him back on Wing where he belongs, and get the bigger, stronger Kim Johnsson back in our own end.
