I really feel sorry for the guy but proposing at a game with 1000s of people around. Not something I would suggest in doing. Also she could've handled it better, just say no but stay with the poor guy. Glad crowd booed her haha.

Have you ever met a grown woman? They've got this weird little thing about marriage, as if it means something to them. So they tend to want to actually mean it when they tell someone they'll marry them.

Not to mention that I promise the guy would be even more devastated if she said yes and then and hour later said "Just kidding!"

Several of the ranger blogs/websites are stating it is a hoax.

Hahaha!
I lol'd at the game. Funniest thing I've seen in a while.

The crowd was grumbling for atleast 5 minutes after that.

I've been to over 150 games in my life, which I think is alot considering my age (20). But, out of every game I've been to, that is one of the funniest things I have seen. The buzz in the building for about 5 minutes after it happened was priceless. If it was a hoax, very well done.

Look up Andrew Gross post game article of the game. I don't have it because I find it through his twitter account, but he mentioned that the proposal was a hoax by the couple. The Garden crew had no idea it was a hoax. The couple planned the whole thing beforehand just to have some fun.

I was at the game, and I couldn't believe the commotion it was getting. In between periods, EVERYONE was talking about it and asking the concession people if they heard any news, and the concession people said that she eventually said yes.

But alas, it was a hoax.

And I'm sure, a quite expensive one.

Sorry but this guy only has to blame himself. How can you be so stupid and classless to make such a completely dumbass proposal??

Edit: OK, seemed to be fake. Not funny, anyway...

Hilarious, hoax or not. Seen it a few times at games, every time the girl has not been expecting it but eventually said yes.

Anyone have a ballpark idea as to how much something like that costs? NOT that I'm thinking of doing it, everyone just keeps saying how expensive a hoax it was...
