Slumps suck...

Searched for this and didn't find much sooooo here goes...

Looking for tips to get out of a slump. Our team recently moved up a division. We are a weaker team now BUT we have been in every game despite me (leading scorer last season) not being able to put the puck in the net this year. Today I schooled two d men and had an open shot in the slot... I fanned?!?!?!?! Two other big chances for me and I couldn't light the lamp. I am beside myself. Want to sell my gear at this point. I am hating life.

Any tips or stories of slumps?

Change something.

Honestly, just like change the color of your tape. Make your helmet looser or/tighter/

I hear ya. I haven't had a goal in four games (1/5 the season), even though I've been a +8 over that stretch. And only two assists.

I've been trying to just play a simple game, not do too much, keep the puck in their end, be a good teammate on the bench, etc.

I think I've gone through all four of my sticks constantly swapping them in games too...gotta change it up! I almost got a new stick to see if that would help, but I'm saving up for new skates.

I don't know if you play on the same line all the time but try switching to another line for a game or two for the hell of it.

I spent time not scoring as a forward so I switched to defense LOL. true ... I score more playing defense than I did as a forward. Go figure.

I get the assists too which is nice.

hey just change up what you have been doing, change is good.

Changed my stick tape from black to white and uncovered the heel of the stick like I see so many pros do. Apparently that sparked something. 4 goal night tonight.

Hey Hey! Good job

Like the old saying goes, "If what you are doing isn't working....do something different" Simple, yet effective

I'm the same way. Change gloves, stick tape color, helmets, something...
