Penner?

They do need a better winger for Crosby and their top-6 in general..

Pisani would be a great fit there.

What would they offer for the big man though?

Penner would probably get close to 50 playing with Sid.

He'd make some sense since he can still contribute offensively from time to time.

I have an interest in Staal as an Oiler. I'd give up ANY Oiler forward for him.

Their first could potentially only be 1 pick in front of our 2nd rounder so that isn't very appealing IMO.

I'd move O'Sullivan for it though.

we could then trade our late first and early second for a higher pick in the first round

but yes, i would rather trade O'Sullivan

Did they get rid of the salary cap while I was away?

Is there any chance we could get Eric Tangradi or Simon Despres for Dustin Penner?

They want Pouliot so they can reunite him with Crosby.

I think POS would make sense in that he does have a very high skill level which they don't seem to have in any of their current wingers (with all due respect to Guerin, Kunitz and Fedotenko, Patty trumps them in the skill department). Would look good riding shotgun to Malkin. That being said, Shero is usually very careful with cap considerations and POS's 2.9 hit probably isn't overly appealing. That makes me think Comrie or Pisani.

If it is any of those 3, I'd think the expected return would be:

POS - 2nd rder
Comrie - 3rd rder
Pisani - 4th/5th rder

Really hope its POS.

surprisingly oilers version of Zach Parise has been one of the better oilers once coming back

The Oilers would have to take back salary if they trade Patty to the Pens....since Pittsburgh doesn't have the cap space to just give up a pick. Can't really see it happening, not that it's impossible either. [And I don't know why everyone is so anxious to get rid of O'Sullivan anyway, but whatever....]

I was thinking maybe they'd be interested in Potulny? He can play on the wing and he's got a decent shot - he'd also be dirt cheap.
