I recall reading on ctvolympics.ca that it's around $125 million, but I can't find the article anymore

Is Thoresen even on the Norweigan team?

edit: Nevermind I see the post on the first page. Just got lost at the picture preceeding the roster.

Watching the US play Switzerland right now... team USA looks fuggin' AWFUL. Can't make a solid pass to save their lives, their PP looks like Buchberger is running it... glad I'm not a Team USA fan right now.

That'll be team Canada tonight, and most "medal favourites". First game together. They'll round out and get better.

It's the 1st game man. What a shot by B.Ryan though, that has to be one of the best releases in the league, kid is gonna be a star.

I really hope this game is somewhat close even thought I know it would be an embarrassment. I don't want to see 15-1 or something along those lines. I hope the Norwegian goalie stands on his head. Make it like 3-0 or something.

I thought the US had a pretty decent first period given the "rust". The Parise-Drury-Kane line looked dangerous and I also like what the Ryan-Backes-Callahan unit has brought to the table.

The Swiss gradually started to get some more possession from their own blue-line up, though, so that was a timely goal the US got at the end. Going into the second tied might have gotten the American nerves going.

Also, I might have lived under a rock the last little while, but why isn't Gomez on Team USA?

I probably would go with:

Bergeron - Staal - Iginla
Morrow - Toews - Perry
Richards

I dunno, it just seems like Thornton, the king of assists, with Crosby and Marleau, two of the three NHL leaders in goals (3rd=Ovy, of course), makes perfect sense. Maybe it's just me. I can see the merits of keeping the SJS line together for the first game, as the team is new to each other, but at least throw Iginla or Getzlaf up on the top line. I don't know why Bergeron would be on the top line of this club, ever. Getzlaf is coming off a 3 point night, and is an obvious offensive threat, he should be on the second line. IMO, Bergeron, Staal, and Iginla are the best 3 for the shut down line, anyway, and it was my understanding that was the purpose of taking Bergeron, so that he could be played in a defensive role.

The only thing wrong with the defense is no Mike Green! But that's another story.

-JH.
Third and fourth lines do not necessarily denote "Checking" lines in a competition like this.

Our 4th line is still going to be a threat to score, so it's not like Getzlaf is not going to have offensive opportunities.

I hope that Canada crushes Norway tonight so that the rest of the world will have something else to whine about.

Sounds like there are 5 or 6 others that generally don't wear visors, but have to. Back in 94 it became mandatory, but if you were 20 you were grandfathered in.
