Absolutely yes. What I love the most about the Olympics, winter or summer, is how much passion all the athletes show. This is sport at its purest. Playing for the love of a sport and the country you represent. I would rather watch the Canadian women play hockey than the Edmonton oilers...this season at least.

i find the women's hockey so unentertaining it is unbelievable...there is only 2 nations that compete, and the rest are just fodder. call me in 20 years and i might have another answer

Never really seen any passion by the teams that USA and Canada play.

Like the Juniors I pick and choose my games. I will watch the Gold Medal game and if by chance Canada doesn't make that game and plays the Bronze Medal game I'll watch that. Other then that I may watch bits and pieces of other games.

I have all the respect in the world for all Olympic athletes but this is a lopsided event. Very rarely does any team challenge the US or Canada and I'm usually falling asleep after the first period of every 10+ goal game. Hopefully the game continues to grow and that we can point to Olympic participation as part of the cause.

I feel for the softball players and women ski jumpers who can't compete in the Olympics in much more competitive fields than this.

Also...how about that Patrick Thoresen? I loved that guy when he was here. All hustle and some decent offensive instincts. Perfect third liner. I'd be pretty happy if we brought him in again, although with the scoring he's doing in the KHL I'm sure he can probably make more money there.

All hockey, both men's and women's, is so boring to watch when it is a superpower vs an amateur team. Too bad professional athletes are permitted to compete in such events. Hockey will be great when Russia, USA and Canada finally meet up! Grebs looked fairly good on th PP.

How is the Chinese women's team doing?

Good for the homeless peeps! A causal friend actually monitors the protests to ensure the police do not overstep their boundaries. It is unbelievable how much time the police have to even make visits to the safe injection sites and harass drug addicts.

I disagree. I watched the USA China game and although the score was crazy, the Chinese fought till the bitter end...It was really entertaining....much moreso than the Oilers

I watch because I love hockey at all levels, although my preference would be to have the men play Hockey and I would actually rather watch Women's Ringette, I have watched the Canadian national Ringette team play as well as the NRL teams play and it is a much faster game than Women's hockey thus more entertaining. Unfortunately not enough nations play to make it an official sport. But there are at least 4 nations that can play and any one could dominate. Finland, Sweden, USA and Canada all have strong ringette teams with Finland and Canada being the strongest which is better than just two power houses like in Hockey.

I loved that Canada won another Gold yesterday, that was just awesome, and the Curling was really good as well.

They don't quit and their goalie was spectacular against the USA!

Womens Hockey is a tick below my Sunday nite Rec League. I honestly despise it and the fact Canada has a good chance to win a Gold Medal in this event has yet to make me want to even try and watch it anymore. I made the effort a few years ago...but sorry...I just can't pretend anymore.

I've watched some of the games, but I honestly get bored pretty quickly. The lack of competition and frankly, skill, isn't all that entertaining to me. When the US and Canada inevitably face each other in the gold medal game, I'll definitely watch that however.

If our women prepare against Midget AAA teams, do teams like slovakia prepare against Novice mens teams?

I'm just curious, do you think that you enjoy cheering for team Canada as much as you do because you lived abroad? Or were you always so patriotic?

I've travelled around, and I love Canada but I seem to be lacking that spirit that so many have when it comes to the Olympics. I mean I didn't go check out the torch, I didn't record the opening ceremonies and haven't seen them... I've only watched hokcey so far... I find it interesting to observe other people's passions and experiences with the games.

That's what I honestly said TWO years ago on a Facebook group for the Oilers

He's my favorite prospect. I don't want that to happen, obviously.

Agreed and the one & only close game of the entire event only makes it worse in my view because most of the players for both teams are so totally overcome with angst/hate/emotion in this waaaay over-played rivalry that it is now a perpetual catfight on ice...very little to do with the actual sport of hockey and much to do with a bunch of slagging & whining.
