I've tried to watch woman's hockey but it's really tough. I've decided to just watch the highlights.

That Potter lady for the US has some sick hands.

You betcha, it's entertaining, even if we steam roll the other teams. (Gotta get rid of the goal differential as a seeding tie breaker.) The players love the game and really care. I don't think any edmonton oiler fan should be picky about the calibre of hockey we watch this year.

sadly yes. why this is an olympic sport when only 2 teams can compete and other sports aren't (womens areils) . It reminds me of the dream team in the mid 90's heres to china winning gold in 2056.

I've tried to. But between the quality of play and the way the Canadian women have been acting, I just can't do it.

I'm with you and all the people who said the same sort of thing. I tried to watch and it's sad. I couldn't take it.
I feel sorry for the teams other than the US and Canada that have to play on such a big stage when they are not good players at all.

Add the fact that the Canadian women are celebrating like they've never scored before and it makes it even more of a joke.

But you KNOW some groups will complain if that happened because 'women aren't getting a fair shake'

So when the Canadian men were beating up on the world way back in history should have they taken hockey out of the olympics? Are would you argue that the the other countries needed time to catch up?

I would have argued the latter?

canada didn't win anything for 30yrs. i think your forgetting the utter domanance of the USSR who didn't lose a international event for around 30 yrs except lake placid miracle. which is why it was called a miracle!

There were more than two countries that could actually competently play hockey on the men's side though.

Canada won easily, they had no competition and it took time for this to change!

That doesn't mean it has to remain in the Olympics>

You can have your womens championships and invite whomever your want...just don't bring it to the Olympics for another 15-20 years when it can at least come across as something more than a beer league game.

Utterly lame.

So in 1920 (hockey's debut at the olympics) when Canada won 15-0 and 12-1 they should have removed hockey from the olympics?

Should it have been removed until the other countries caught up?

Nope. Im telling you the same thing I would have told you during Turin...this is lame, weak and pointless. Its not worthy of being called an Olympic sport & its not going to be any better in Russia because Russians don't give 2 ***** about girls hockey either.

At least keep it off TV for PETE sakes!

The 1924 olympics were even lamer!! The scores were 33-0, 22-0, 18-0, 19-2, 11-0 and 22-0!!

So I will ask one more time, should have remained in the olympics while the other countries caught up?
