It's funny that after being in a dead heat with Weber, Gerbe has 0 votes to McNabb's 6 so far.

I voted McNabb at the outset of the last poll as well. I suspect many of Weber's and all of McNabb's votes will go to Brayden this time around.

Defintely didn't expect a blowout here. I'll finally cast a vote because I think Gerbe deserves this spot more because he has proven much more. McNabb's a nice talent but Gerbe isn't a lost cause yet.

Definitely. Just an amusing occurrence. In the past, if there was a tie, the loser of the run off would automatically be slotted into the next spot.

Gerbe for now, but McNabb is right on his heels due to his big-time upside. If Gerbe isn't able to crack the big club next year and McNabb comes in and looks as good as I expect him to in camp, then I'll rethink his position among our prospects.

Add Crawford

McNabb, add Foligno.

McNabb being in front is interesting, but not totally unexpected. I also think that many of the Weber voters will go with McNabb.

But Gerbe is next on the list, i don't think Gogulla, Lagace or anyone else have a chance.

I vote McNabb
But it really should be Gerbe's spot..... but his size....

Well, I take size over talent, because we have enough short players in the organization. And McNab seems to be talented as well.

we are getting close to the area where i find everyone elses picks interesting... some lean towards the conventional and continue to place the pro prospects ahead of the junior prospects...

Is that actually the case or is it a point where people start weighing the variation from junior or collegiate potential vs. established pro production? Or the expectation of junior/collegiate performance as compared to the age and experience of the player?

Or is this you simply trying to pimp Lagace?

Obviously thats the case

i just wonder why a guy like Schutz is immediately included in the list of top 10 guys to vote for. it always seems like the same guys are the same place when we do these. if you're not a 1st or 2nd round pick, you never see a guy move up the rankings much until he goes pro, and i just dont get that. Schutz has shown very little in terms of growth and progress... where as Lagace is having a monster year in the Q...

It's like Mancari, 2 years ago he would hang around in the middle of the prospect pole because he was a pro and all... sooner or later you have to weigh the likelihood of guys like Schutz or even Gogulla ever really making an impact in some way at the NHL level vs the younger potential of prospects like Lagace, Tropp, or Crawford.

i dont know what im trying to say...

1. Ennis
2. Enroth
--- these two are the clear top guys right now, and both should be with Buffalo to start next year.

3. Adam
4. Weber
5. Kassian
--- 3 prospects at different stages. these 3 spots can be interchangeable. I really love Adam's development this year, he clearly took 'the next step' and should be penciled into Portland's 1st line center spot next year. Weber is Buffalo bound for sure next year. Kassian's development has taken a hit, but his build and style are sorely lacking throughout the system. We may need to find patience with him, but his potential earns him a top 5 spot alone.

6. Lagace
7. Crawford
8. Mcnabb
--- these are the 3 big "up and comers". Im much higher on Lagace then most. It's not just the impressive offensive numbers, it's how it gets them. He's not a "perimiter Q" player. He puts up points around the net and plays with more size then he has (5'11 190ish). Again these 3 are pretty interchangeable in the 6-7-8 area. Most are higher on Mcnabb, but Im still a little concerned about the skating. Crawford looks to me like the best offensive defensemen in the system.

9. Gerbe
10. Schiestel
11. Brennan
---- Gerbe has plateaued. Im not sure he's ever going to be a true top 6 NHLer. Skill/Potential keeps him in the top 10 for one more year. Schiestel and Brennan are going to take some time. I like Schiestel more as a QB, but Brennan as more of a complete defensemen. They are two guys that are hard to justify as top 10 prospect types because its based so much on a lot of potential vs not much in results...yet

12. Tropp
13. Eidsness
14. Legault
--- Both Tropp and Eidsness could be stashed away at the college for another year, although i expect Tropp to get a look as a senior. Eidsness is a sophmore who has climbed up the rankings since last seasons very impressive performance for a freshmen. Legault is a guy i rank higher because I think he is NHL bound. No more then a 4th liner, but a quality NHL 4th liner, he is higher on my list then a guy who may not make the bigs.

15. Gogulla
16. Biega
--- two guys im not as high on as many others. Is Gogulla an NHLer? Maybe on the fringe, right now I don't see enough in him. i dont see what role he fills. When you're ceiling is lower then Dan Paille's... there's not much to get excited about. Biega is all flash.

17. Foligno
18. Gragnani
19. Persson
---- I like Foligno a lot. this is a little lower then I expected to put him. I really think both Legault and Foligno have NHL futures. Legault is just closer to going pro. I never liked Gragnani and Persson is a season closer to bust status.

20. Fienhage
21. Schutz
22. Adams
23. Knapp
24. Byron
25. Mackenzie
26. Zagrapan
27. Whitmore
28. Kostka
29. Eno
30. Jokinen

This .

But i understand James point, although i like Schütz, i think he won't make the Top-10 and will end up around 15.

Well, I'm one of the people who tends to rate pro-players higher (although that isn't something i do on purpose). Weber is still ahead of McNabb for me, Gerbe and Gogulla better than Lagace and so on. Lagace is not really having a "monster year". He is having a good yeah, although struggeling as of lately, but he does what you expect from a skill-guy his age in the Q. But at the moment, we have 4 or even 5 guys who are having a great year in juniors or at college: Adam, McNabb, Lagace, Tropp and maybe even your beloved Legault. But they won't all make it to the NHL, there is still a pretty high risk at everyone except Adam. We just hope they become impact players, we want them to be great and project our wishes into them. But there are still very big question marks.
On the other side, you can already insert Weber into our 3rd pairing and maybe he will step up his game once he is in the NHL. Schutz and Mancari could play the Bottom-lines, Gogulla, if he keeps developing decently, could serve as an injury call-up too next year, Gerbe can already be inserted. Those guys are still ahead of Lagace, Tropp or Legault for me.

But well, just my opinion, this isn't a question where you can give 'the' answer. You have already pushed Lagace and Legault a lot at the last voting (and you have been right with Lagace but pretty wrong with Legault). I just am a bit more careful when it comes to our junior players. Yes, being a pro may help a player in my personal ranking!
