Well, what to say. It's incredibly disappointing and Khabibulin should be absolutely ashamed, not only for his actions, but also for the way he represented the Edmonton Oilers. As if our team needed anymore crap to go down this year.

We just had to one up Calgary with Jay-Bo.

I guess it's good Khabby didn't almost swerve into the opposing lane and nail a off duty police offer head on...

Very embarrassing nonetheless on the org and for Khabby.

DUIs are pretty weak. Khabibulin should know better... he's an older player with a family, not an 18 year old millionaire.

So Bush League, i can't stand people who drink and drive and it's usually the innocent people who get hurt or worse. It's amazing how professional athletes who know that they are in the spotlight put themselves in these situations, just stupid..... Thanks a lot Tambo for signing this jackoff.
The season from hell continues, Hall or Seguin better turn out to be a helluva player, us Oiler fans deserve it.

You booze you lose!

Seriously though rough year for the Oil just keeps getting worse. At least us selecting Taylor Hall will give us some positive press for once...

maybe I was a bit harsh in my previous statement (comparing Khabby to Heatley)... I guess the whole Ferrari, drunk driving thing were the parallels... add in the mixture of spurning by Heatley, plus this ****** season put me in that place. Sorry if it offended anyone.

it would be great if the Oilers could VOID the contract as a result. The best news in this is that he didn't hurt or kill anyone as a result of his stupidity.

would be neat if they could void the contract if a morals clause was in there. Doubt it.

That's a highly trained professional athlete rehabbing after a surgical procedure. On the bright side, I don't see Chad Moreau's name mentioned.

If I'm Tambo I'm hiring a private investigator to check and see if Bulin's been hanging around any golf courses in the last week or so...

It just frustrates me so much that these guys can't call a cab or their wives if they've been drinking? I would have to pass on having a pint or two if I can't afford the cab fair, but in this situation? What's even $50 or $100 to Khabi? He could have even hired a limo for an hour if a cab was beneath him.

Yup, I completely agree. Even if there's legal grounds for contract termination, I have to wonder if the organization would do it. No one was injured or killed as you said, and it would be pretty mercenary to cut his contract as a result -- even for something as unbelievably stupid as this, on his part.

What an unreal season this is turning out to be.
