Right! I can't think of an Oiler being charged with a DUI while playing for the team. My google search didn't bring up anything either.

I'm sure they'll be working close with the Scottsdale police to evaluate where to go next.

Hopefully Khabby is given at least three years in jail and the NHL is forced to void the deal for the Edmonton Oilers.

Have a beer or two, and kill your friend in a Ferrari? Oh, you're a good hockey player, it's ok.

Make a comment about it? You're worse than Hitler!

Louis Debrusk was arrested for a drunken disorderly if I recall.

NHL players have guaranteed contracts. I think it would be a league matter just as it was with Mark Bell and Theo Fleury.

Mr. Khabibulin will have to enter some sort of program and that will be the end of it from the NHL's end.

I can't see him getting three years in jail. The voiding of the contract could potentially happen though.

the charges were reported to be misdemeanors though. Slap on the wrist and a fine would be all I see from this.

Probably not, but can't a guy use a bit of wishful thinking.

Lowe is on TEAM 1260 right now. As ws expected he said that he has to decline to tlak about the situation until they know more about the event.

Not sure how the Oilers don't know more about the situation if it happened superbowl weekend.

Nothing really to get off, though. He was charged with misdemeanors, so it's probably just a fine and a suspension.

EDIT: Now you're the efficient one, BB.

What did J-Bo get a small fine and a one year loss of his license? Didn't really seem to hurt him much. What is the penalty in the Arizona anyways? Funny this happened over a week ago and no one caught wind of this.

Ya even in Canada your initial DUI isn't a very serious conviction eventhough all the government commercials and advertising will tell you otherwise.

He could have even hired a limo for an hour if a cab was beneath him.
This. Have a limo follow you around all night. It only costs a couple hundred. Chicken feed for him.

The Oilers should try and find a way to void his contract but knowing our management team they'll "assess" the situation for the next 3 years and by that time his contract will be up.

Well I hate to say this, but this is the year for something this stupid to actually happen. Our team is already being called a joke and at rock bottom so I guess it's better then if we were in a playoff position having to deal with this crap.
