Flyers are looking to pick up some extra secondary scoring, preferably on an expiring contract.

looking to add a top 6 center.

Also Dennis Seidenberg and Jordan Leopold are still available, make an offer if interested. Listening to offers for Tomas Vokoun as well.

Carolina acquires Wideman, pick from Bruins

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced a trade with the Boston Bruins, acquiring defenceman Dennis Wideman and Tampa Bay's 2nd round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry draft in exchange for defenceman Joe Corvo.

"We felt that, going forward, we had to start rebuilding this team. As we're very comfortable with our goaltending situation with Cam Ward, the defence was the next step and we believe that Dennis Wideman can be a key contributor to this club." Canes GM TribalPhoenix stated on a conference call this evening.

"While Dennis is not having the season we had come to expect from him in previous seasons, we remain confident that he can regain his composure and become the player he has shown he can be. While we wish Joe the greatest success, and thank him for his years of dedicated service in a Hurricanes uniform, the future of this club has begun to unfold."

Reports indicate the Columbus Blue Jackets are close to acquiring an All-Star caliber center. The exact terms of the deal are unclear but would most likely involve young roster players and picks/prospects coming from Columbus' side. The deal is pending league approval.

More to come soon..

My sister just got into a car accident and I don't know it's seriousness yet so I wont be on much.
