U of A reels from $20M surprise cut - I put this on here because didn't Katz put some money aside for the UoA and the Oilers to have a shared facility? Perhaps money can get moved around with Katz's help..

I put other, because at this point the season is comically disastrous.

Just waiting on word that Gagner and Cogliano are partners, or something equally ridiculous.

Edit: Not to state that the lifestyle is ridiculous. As a disclaimer.

Edit2: Again, thanks for doing this BB. Still really nice to wake up to even in our slow times.

I hate posting stuff like that, but I don't have much to add to my thread during the olympics. This is almost as lean as the summer!

You should have gone with this season can't get any worse then. I try to put a variety of options, but I can't word it completely right for everyone right?

Besides if anyone it will be Gilbert and Gagner.

Keeping the legion of massively tortured Edmonton Oilers fans satisfied certainly would be a task in itself .

Of course it's Gilbert! The shoes! How did I not consider that?

Exactly! The shoes and the blogs he writes... not that there's anything wrong with that

Thanks BB with the lovely news again

To be honest, I'm pretty meh of the situation. He didn't kill anyone. He could of, but didn't.

You're welcome!

BAH! Can't believe I left off Meh! That was definitley one I had in mind when I started writing out options. Sorry. I went with waiting on my details. I reacted too quickly on the Kane situation, and a little on this one. I do hate hearing that people drive after drinking, especially when they have money=alternate ways of getting home. I guess I was just picturing this as a Paris, Brittney or Lindsay situation. So embarassed that those names come to mind so easily.

yeah, i dont even care about the jail time or whatever. that stuff doesnt change crap. i got personal reasons why i hate drunk drivers (it involves a death) but when a society is hellbent on selling addictive alcohol (hi, it keeps sports alive), making it a "social thing", and then damning people for inebriated actions - youre asking to have your cake while eating it too. to think people arent going to drive drunk is a pipe dream and the amount of people who do and dont get caught has to be astronomical on a yearly basis.

you reap what you sow culturally. so eat that cake.

Thank for the update BB

I am waiting for more info--

it was obviously stupid and he should have known better. But I am curious to know if this happens while the oilers are top five and not bottom five--would people be as pissed?

Hey for those pessamists who think the season can't get any worse, buckle your seat belts, there are still 20+ games left in the season.

here is a what if

What if the oilers draft 4th?

as you said--a lot can happen in 20 games and a few teams are diving--this board will go into melt down if any team gets near the oilers for sucking

Please, please keep such horrible thoughts out of my happy happy joy joy thread. I would lose it if we finish higher than second in the lottery this year. We deserve something to look forward to.

I voted "other": I could care less.

I've never prescribed to the "athlete as a role model" theory. Your parents should be your role models - not some millionaire with an obscure talent.

Funny how the media will not post or show any of the Positive letters or any of the positive endorsements that it might get.

As far as Kahbby and his DUI, if he was indeed driving Drunk then he gets what he deserves. What a fool, I have no tolerance for people who drink and drive!
