A reliable defenseman, for one.

For two, a package that includes a goalie with Huet going the other way.

Ya know, nothing too hard.

As a Ranger fan the usual, Roszival, Redden, Drury. BUT, wouldn't mind if a package of Lisin/Boyle and a 2nd or whatever it takes was offered,

There was a proposal last week with Byfuglien and both team (Chicago and Montréal) were agree.

Andrew Ladd + Dustin Byfuglien + 2nd
vs
Max Pacioretty + Jaroslav Halak

We shouldn't be throwing in a second first of all. Secondly, Andrew Ladd isn't going anywhere before the season ends, sorry.

Motin, Cogs, Pisani for Byfuglien and Skille?

I think my opinion of Dustin Byfuglien is pretty universal. When he wants to play / shows up he is a force. Just go back to last year playoffs against Vancouver, if he played like that 60+ games a year I would trade Boston's 2010 & 2011 for him right now. But he doesn't so I won't give up more then a high 2nd or Boston's 1st in 2011 for him.

He is a force when he wants to be, he is also one of the most frustrating players to watch. So much talent, so much size... just wish he used it more often then not. He's as frustrating as someone like Samsonov back in 1997 to 2006.

He shouldn't be traded. I don't like any of these offers.

The only thing I get out of these topics is that Oiler fans really, really want to trade Pisani.

During the season I dont think we could get anything of good enough value to compensate for what he will give us for playoff run

During offseason maybe something like solid prospect + 2nd rounder

Isn't Byfluglien a free agent at the end of the season?
I would have guessed Detroit would like him, since Holmstren is about to age out.
He and Khabibulin and Pahlsson killed Vancouver in equal parts last season, in the play-offs. That won't happen again.

What about something around Halak/Byfuglien?

As a Habs fan, I'm not sure how I'd feel about that, kinda mixed emotions

Theres a few players ahead of him on the "trade because of the stupidity of Tallon" list.
But, the Hawks are also banking that he ups his game in the playoffs again, banking on it, even. If he stinks up the joint they just might throw him out there for scraps.

Rumours are the Leafs got that offer for Alex Ponikarovsky.

Alexei Ponikarovsky makes $2.105 mill, is 6-4 & 220 pounds, and on pace for 54 points & +5 on a terrible Leafs team.

Dustin Byfuglien makes $3 mill for another year, is 6-3 and a fat 246 pounds, and one pace for 32 points and is a -6.

More like buyout.
