The Swiss back-up wears #66?!

Sweet. I want to see that sweater in action at some point tonight.

Started out to be a bit of a track meet but Canada has now backed the Swiss off with some hard play and the cycle game was taking over later in the period.

Very well played 20 mins for the fellas.

Another detail we can work on in this game is the inability of Hiller to knock down the hard-around shoot-ins. Makes for a big advantadge for us.

This PP reminds me of '06, but the team doesn't.

The Swiss looked awfully good there in the first part of the period.

Canada seemed to find a bit of a groove near the end there but they'll need to figure out how to get their powerplay going.

Im hoping to see more from them in the next period.

I disagree. The energy level of the PP in Turin was comatose. These sets are struggling because they are red-lined with the energy.

The solution for this is the same as it was versus Norway and it will be a constant throughout the Tournament: Grip & rip.

Maybe I'm being too hard on him and it's early, but I really think it's going to be tough for Joe Thornton to do much with both his hands around his neck

I really don't think this guy will ever get it.

Also, I realize this is just game two but I'm not liking what I'm seeing from Thornton.

He seems to keep trying low percentage passes and keeps on giving up the puck.

I'm really hoping he can pick it up and kick that choker reputation he's developed.

Edit: I see someone beat me to it.

Great minds think alike But this guy just won't ever get it! I used to be a HUGE Joe Thornton fan and always defended him but after the 06 Olympics I gave up on the guy. He doesn't know how to take his game to another level. When games get bigger and more intense, he for some reason thinks he can just keep playing his slow, methodic game and you can't. And no I don't care that he just got an assist it was the doing of Weber, Heater and Marleau

Haha, try convincing Pierre McGuire of those valid Joe Thornton criticisms.

No doubt, and while I admit he looks a little better this period, this BS will really start to show up if he doesn't step it up come Sunday and beyond.
