Nets deal to play at the Rock done

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but figured some people might be interested that we're inheriting the worst team in the NBA next year and the following year until they bolt to NY (or they still hope).

Wow, $4M payment and they can save $100K by "leasing a suite"

Lol, wonder who will benefit from THAT

This is good.

When I get free tix to a nets game I don't have to go the dump.

And I checked a Nets forum and I guess this poster got a little too excited:

"Yo the New Jersey NETS are gonna play at the Rock!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR TWO YEARS THIS IS HUGE.I went to one of the preseason games and loved the brand new arena. Its in the heart of the city we're gonna be sold out like MSG.I wish the Nets would just stay in Jersey."

The Nets should be thankful that they will be playing at the Rock and not CAA. I still call it CAA, Izod Center is an awful name.

lol, buy a suite from the Devils and give it to us, and we'll let you off, so we can party there for free.

edit: if you've ever heard the story about the "Russian Penguins" (post USSR Red Army team), this sounds eerily familiar

The agreement also contains a non-disparagement clause aimed at ending the arena wars between Izod and Prudential -- which are just miles apart and compete for many of the same concerts and entertainment. It prohibits all sides -- the Nets, the Sports Authority and the Prudential Center -- from talking negatively about either the Izod Center or Prudential Center, or encouraging the closure of any facility.
Bahahaha. Close the Rock!

Whatever. More money for the Devils and it's only two years.

No permanent Nets decorations of any kind though plz.

Now we have to deal with their ******* banners. Do you think they'll put covers over the club seats with the Devils logo?

I still am baffled by the amount of hate this gets. I can't stand basketball, but this is pure profit for our franchise and the city of Newark.

I don't understand it either..

It's like the Nets are taking over and renovating the building or something.. Seton Hall plays there and no one complains about it

I wouldn't mind a Dr. J mural over that painting of the Devils with tiny heads.

This doesn't bother me. As long as the Devils don't lose money by having the Nets as a tenant, I don't really care if they play at the Rock.

As long as they don't put up Nets decorations, then I won't care. And I don't want them to take down the dual retirement number banners.
