Wasn't he suffering from a sore groin when he missed a couple of games during the west coast trip back in November? Careful with the google-translat-o-matic. A LOT is lost in the process and can lead to a misunderstanding.

Hank's fine. If the reason he didn't play against Belarus was he wanted to rest, he would've said that. But now he said he really wanted to play, but it was BÅG's decision to get two goalies started. He also said in Swedish TV: "You're used to having minor ailments here and there." I don't think any NHL player is 100% during a season and especially not in the playoffs.

If he wasn't fine, there's no reason for him not to say so. And he certainly wouldn't play 54 games up until now. It's probably one of those "sore when cold, fine when warmed up" kind of ailments he has.

First of all, they're obviously digging for a scope, hence the overblown headline. They basically say he's been having some trouble with a groin since the start of the season and has had it since. So he's been playing with this problem the entire season. The article tries to say he rested against Belarus because of the groin, but Henke himself said in TV that the decision to scratch him, had nothing to do with any injuries or tiredness.

When they asked him in television about this, Hank said he was used to having "skavanker här och där" in Swedish, which means something like "minor ailments here and there" in english (own try of translation). So it's nothing big.

I can't imagine any goalie that plays 70 games a season not going through some injuries throughout the season.

Anyway, if it's a muscle thing you can just pop some ibuprofen before the game, as long as it's not too serious. But he's looked fine lately, so I can't imagine it is

If lundqvist had a groin injury since the FALL and is still playing, I think it would be safe to say that he cut off anything in that region by now

I'm sure it's minor and nothing major, but having a nagging injury for the whole season is enough to drive you nuts. No pun intended since it's a groin injury.

I would certainly hope not! But I'll take one for the team and offer to volunteer as a physical therapist for him.

I clearly remember a minor groin tweak being reported earlier in the season... everybody freaked out then...and forgot about it by now

If he has groin problems, Torts is an idiot for running him out there constantly. As much as I have come to dislike Torts, I don't think he is that much of an idiot.

I think Torts said before the sesaon started that he would play Hank a little bit less than Hank was used to (he thought Hank looked a little bit exhausted during the playoffs, lights out and unbeatable one night, almost human the next).

Now i think he plays him even more than Renney did

Make no mistake, I want Hank to play every game for us, but in the long run we may be better of resting him now and then.

I think Torts is destroying Henrik. He's playing Henrik too much, not giving him enough rest, screaming at him at practices that he has to stop every shot and just screwing with his head.

Read this about Lundqvist's problems this year and how they are directly attributed to Torts. (not my blog) http://www.thegoalieguild.com/?p=3082

He has flopped around like a fish all season, leading me to wonder if something was wrong. I actually buy it.

I believe it. Early on it looked like he was playing injured.

On a side note, the Google translation was impressively spot on.
The content of the article probably less so.
