Toews use has been almost restricted to fourth line and penalty kill duties - I do not think much will change in regards to that, because Babcock seems quite comfortable and reliable on Toews in that role.
As for Staal - I think he is the type of guy that will see more and more ice if things are not going well for the first two lines.
Both of them have played ok so far - Toews probably has been a little more impressive than Staal just because he is gettingn primary PK time
I feel like Staal can be a gamebreaker. I hope he gets his wrister going.
The NHL would be dumb not to allow theirs players to go to 2014. Right now the Canada vs USA game is front page on ESPN's Website, Sports Illustrated's Website and every other sports website around.
Sometimes supposedly smart people make dumb decisions. I hope that this is not the case with regards to NHL participation in 2014. It is a no brainer to me. The promotion of the game overrides a couple weeks of inconvenience to NHL owners.
