I don't know why everybody figured that Brodeur was the guy. He hasn't been the same goalie for at least three years now.

Maybe the newly minted American citizen is a double agent.

in the last GDT i was saying that lou should be the starter for the rest of the tourney. ppl pretty much mauled me for that idea stating marty had won stanley cups etc. yeah, his last cup win was 7 years ago.

He was on for both of those goals against. I'm glad to see that he's pissed about it.

I dont think I have seen another game with an unreal pace such as this one.

This in addition with the breathtaking speed that posters are updating the main olympic GDT is making my head and heart spin.

'Puck handling' goalies. These types can do as much harm as good because once they get that label of being great puck handlers and helping out their d-men they feel obligated to handle the puck ALL the time instead of making the simple play. Guys like Brodeur, Turco and Hextall positively give away 3 or 4 goals a year it seems. Franky it terrifies me when I have a 'puck handler' in the nets for me and I'm just giddy when playing against a puck handler because at least once a game the guy is going to make a suspect play.

The lack of playing the puck at a decent level of frequency in the NHL has made Brodeur's skill stale.

Save % 16th, GAA 9th. I saw that coming. He is just following the footsteps as famous Canadian such as Manuel Osborne-Paradis and the Hamelin brothers.

^ WHAT THE HECK, MARTY IS LIKE THE ULTIMATE GOALIE AND IS PRO UNDER PRESSURE

^ What game are you watching so far?

PS: Mostly I am just having some fun. Maybe Marty will pick it up. Maybe not. I would rather Luongo in net but that's just me.

On the bright side, Canada has only given up 6 shots so far. Not too bad.

In my books that was Canada's best period of the tournament. Dominated the US, shots 19-6. I'm not sure why we keep going with Brodeur. His time has passed. Luongo has outplayed him in the NHL in recent history and Brodeur's looked pretty bad in his four periods of action so far. Let's not make the same mistake we made in the World Juniors this year and grow some balls and make the appropriate goalie change.

Going like all hell now trying to bail Brodeur out. That was an absolute ********, ignorant, head-up-your-ass play trying to bat that out of the air. Just inexcusable. I would sit his ass for the remaninder fo the tournament. Makes me sick to see that pratice type intensity in a huge game like this.

Yeah, but I'm getting a terrible vibe that just about every US shot is going to go in.
