Drury scores 1 goal, on a huge Brodeur mistake no less, and all is forgotten?
He's owed 8,000,000 dollars in salary next season!
His cap hit would still be 7,050,000 for the next 2 years.
He has 22 freakin points in 57 games.
I liked Drury and what he brought but there's no way the Sabres should trade for him now. Maybe when he's on the last year of that disgusting deal and is getting paid 5 million in salary the Sabres would consider it. But even then, I doubt Regier ever does it.
Screw Drury, he's a crap player on a crappier contract. He's an excellent 3rd liner, a below average 2nd liner that got an inflated contract by a GM who thought he could resurrect glory by oversigning two centers. If you've seen his lack of drive and results in NY there's no way you'd want him back just because he stepped up his game for the USA. Its kind of like what we've talked about in the other threads about players going all out for a short tournament but are crap for the grind of the NHL season.
Totally agreed on these points. Regardless of the surrounding situation he choose the Rags over Buffalo...I'm not so keen on forgiving that.
