As I said, Poile has no control of whether or not Hornqvist plays for Sweden at this point unless he is diagnosed with a major injury. There are books of policy and protocol regarding this exact situation from the IIHF and IOC.
You simply have to hope that no one is selfish, stupid, and arrogant enough to put a player's short or long term health at risk...
Again, I don't like NHL players in the Olympics for this reason. As a hockey fan the action is phenomenal, but as an NHL fan I'm constantly biting my nails and keeping my fingers crossed that none of the players (especially ours) are injured while participating...
