I could handle a loss to any other team, but these yanks and their gloating like they've won the tournament already is really getting to me. Like losing to the canucks x100.

I realize this is, like, an exile worthy offense right now: But I don't, and have never, given a single damn about the Olympic games.

Can honestly say I might be the only guy in Canada who has not watched a single second of Olympic programming. Hockey or otherwise.

You're not as alone as you think. I consider myself patriotic in the sense that I love Canada, I'm glad I live here and its great if they win things, but I have no drive to watch the games (well besides the hockey). Its funny though, I want to be interested because all the cool kids seem to be really into the games but I'm just not.

Like watching what would happen if Arturs Irbe and Johhny Bower had a collision of DNA strands and named the outcome 'The Starter'.

What gets me the most is the Americans are being called a powerhouse? Why? What have they ever done that would make people think this?

Granted they beat us I just don't think they should be considered a powerhouse going into this tournament.

the only thing i watch is the hockey. the rest i dont care one flying-F about. and im not even tied to any team. its just fun to watch tournament hockey with pros where they usually bring out emotion/drama. like the Ovechkin hit on Jagr leading to a goal is some serious epic hockey. not to mention the USA win over Canada later. its good storylines.

the NHL season has it in areas and of course the playoffs, but as we seen with teams like SJ, it can model the NBA where it becomes an exercise in points (team and individual) and then taking a dump later.

Honestly I'd rather have seen them lose against the Chinese Women's Hockey team. That would have been less painful.

It was like a horror movie....Miller was the masked murderer.

I'm not all that broken up about it. I have trouble getting into Olympic hockey. I was much more emotionally invested in the WJC.

Puck Daddy's blog

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl,221169

is what makes me HATE Americans in Sports (note: I said "in sports"). I realize Canadian FANS/MEDIA downplayed Team USA and were arrogantly assuming a CAN vs. RUS Final, yes Team USA beat Team Canada on the score sheet but to be singing like its an Anthem: Team USA is far-and-away a superior team is just moronic.

Here is something else: On 12 OCT 2009 the EDM OILERS beat NSH PREDATORS 6-1, on 19 NOV EDM beat COL 6-4, 3 DEC 2009 EDM beat DET 4-1.
I suppose the Oilers are better than all 3 of those playoff teams....wait, last I checked EDM was in 30th place in the NHL.

I am not trying to take away from Team USA's win over Canada, I can imagine how glorious it was, but I think the majority of US fans would (to some extent) agree with this statement: MILLER DOWNS CANADA, TEAM USA WATCHED.

A bit of a dick move to take a jab at Crosby because of TC's loss. Puck Daddy lives in DC and covers the Capitals, obviously he thinks more of Ovechkin than Crosby but common man....

After writing all this, I realize Puck Daddy was probably just trying to get a rise out of Canadians (he certainly got one out of me)

When I saw the team picked I said they wouldn't win it.

There is to much politics going on in Hockey Canada.

Luongo right now is the best goalie we have.

Sure Perry is a fine player and has chemistry but he is not better than more than a few players not playing.

Morrow again is on the team because of politics.

Boyle ahead of Boumeester? Greene? Greene should have been there even if he only saw the PP!

Both Boyle and Marleau should not be there. Sure they are fine players again who do well on a stacked team in NHL play, but this is stacked teams of the best and they do not belong here above others.

There has been to much of picking a player and then his linemate to come along as well, instead of taking the best of the best and fitting them together.

You have to give the Blog writer credit for the fine job of "Social Engineering" he did. Pissed of the Canucks fans, enshrined the US team in glory, got a funny thread going between Pro Americans and the rest of the world showing their distaste for American arrogance, and probably got a whole bunch of hits on the Puck Daddy site...well done

Too many 'safe' picks - Players like Pronger & Niedermayer should have not made the team.
