With Nieuwendyk out, and Sundin 'questionable', the checking line with Keith Primeau on it should have a relatively easy time checking the Ron Francis line, or a Mats Sundin line without Sundin being close to 100%. Ed Belfour will have to more than steal the game, he might have to throw up a shutout.

And I'll be very upset because I spent 85 bucks I don't have to go, so for that reason I pick the Flyers 4-1

Discuss.

If indeed Nieuwy is out and Sundin remains out, as go the strong hints, then this is a game for Philly to control, win or lose. With three (Nolan) of our top five offensive threats out, and Moginly a shadow of his former self, we don't have the guns to control this game. Roberts and our defensemen are our only real threats.

That doesn't mean Philly doesn't have to show up and play well. Just that if you play your game I don't see how Leafs can overcome you, short of Belfour absolutely stealing it, which is possible.

I think this would be a great series with all hands on deck. Philly still might win but it would be far more interesting to watch.

I see zero reason why the Flyers shouldn't win this game once again. Home ice, terrific team, goalie who is in the frickin zone, players that know how to score goals. This one, with the exception of some freak injuries or the officials giving Toronto 10 power plays, should be in the bag.

Take nothing for granted. This Leaf team took their series with the Sens by winning game 7 without Sundin and Nolan. They have alot of heart and feed off of the media telling them they can't win (kinda like the Flyers down the stretch with all of thier injuries).

If the Flyers let up for one minute, they'll be in danger going to the ACC with the series tied. This is something Hitch has to stress, as the local media should be telling the Flyers game 2 is in the bag.

That being said.........

Let's Go Flyers!!!!

This is like a 2 man advantage, we must capitalize or there will be a huge momentum swing.

LETS GO FLYERS!!!

If Sundin and Nieuwendyk are both then the Primeau line should match-up with the Francis-Roberts-Mogilny line.

We will still need to keep our eyes out for the Leafs Blue line, which was (I think) the highest scoring defense corps in the regular season. Leetch, McCabe, and Kaberle can all put it in the net.

We also need to be careful of Marchment, Domi, Tucker and the rest. They could very well get chippy and try to injure or beat up some of our players.

BTW, any word on Kim Johnsson?

Highly doubtful.

From a philly.com article:

There is little chance of seeing Kim Johnsson tonight. He didn't skate yesterday and still can't grip his stick because of the bone fracture in his right hand. His absence is huge on the power play, but the more time the Flyers buy him by using Sami Kapanen, the more Johnsson can recover...

Kim Johnsson will not play according the the Score. That means more bruises for little Sammy.

I don't get you, your affiliation is to the Buffalo Sabres. Why jump on the bandwagon of a division rival, why not just watch the hockey games? You can root for the Leafs, fine, but don't be a d*ck going around, spouting your mouth off. Your team missed the playoffs, live with it.

Yeah, and Buffalo is one of those places close enough that they get flooded with obnoxious leaf fans whenever they play. Its like a Devils fan rooting for the Flyers.

If you "don't get me" why don't you just ask???

It has nothing to do with any of the assumptions you're making, now that's being a di**. I put money on the Leafs to win the Cup at 12-1 odds. I thought that was great value for what I think is the most solid team from the goalie out. Sundin getting injured was not part of my plan, nor was having to play Ottawa in the 1st round and then Philly in the 2nd. That's a tough road.

Anyways, I hope I didn't offend you with the little shot I took a Sammy. Relax.

I two games to none lead would be big. Then they could just split the two games in Toronto and be in great shape.

The score will be 3-2. Not sure which team will win, though.

CBC showed Sundin and Nolan skating in practice sunday AM. Sundin looked fine, I think Healy said not yet for Nolan...but possibly later in the series. Flyers will have to take advantage, especially with the Johnsson injury. 3-2 Flyers, trick for Leclair...
