Who Do you think would be interested and how much would it cost. Just Wondering if one or both can be moved on March 3rd or Draft Day.

How about...

To Edm:
Ryder

To Bos:
Horcoff
4th round pick

Ryder has 15 G and 10 A
Horcoff has 8 G and 14 A

Ryder has a cap hit of $4M for one more year
Horcoff has a cap hit of $5.5M for 3 more years

In other words, not a chance. The Bruins would only "dump" Ryder (trade for bad value) in order to free up money. They aren't going to take on one of the worst contracts in the league, at a position they are stacked at. It makes no sense

I don't see anyone taking Ryder, but there should be some interest in Wideman.

Does Horcoff play wing, because 5.5 is a heck of a lot to pay a 4th line C?

And if he does play wing.... we still don't do that deal.

Would the Bruins trade Wideman to NJ? Although I am reluctant to do it because you are saying that he is playing poorly. How bad has he been and what are you guys looking for?

I wouldn't mind trading Ryder if the return was something to help us put together something of substance, but Wideman has been playing better recently. He isn't a bad player. He is young, and could easily blossom into a very solid offensive D man.

rosival for ryder.
if i remember correctly, Boston needs defensemen? rosivals contract isnt too bad after this season and puts up 20+ mins a game. the rangers could use some scoring from ryder i guess

Boston isn't going to trade a bad contract just for a worse contract... So no, they won't trade Ryder for Horcoff or Rozsival...

The Bruins already announced they're shopping Ryder and I wouldn't be surprised if they're shopping Wideman. Wideman I can see bringing back a decent return but I have a feeling to trade Ryder, they're going to have to do something like Ryder+2nd rounder for low level prospect.

Ryder doesn't have negative value.

no, but we may have to "sweeten the pot" for us not to recieve another bad contract in return...

And honestly, I do not mind that.

Wideman on the other hand, I am not sure what is wrong, but he was bar none the second best Dman last year, and this year... its simple stupid mistakes...

I have NEVER seen someone trip over the blueline more than Dennis Wideman has this year, never.

Edmonton fans need to overthrow their club President Kevin Lowe before acquiring Either Wideman or Ryder.....

No savings on the cap. Might as well go with the mutt you've at least seen look like a purebred before if you're not saving any cap space.

Wideman has been almost comically bad this season, but in the last 2 weeks his play has improved and maybe the break will do wonders for him. For better or worse, he's playing 25+ minutes a night. He's a warrior, he's just been a terrible player for most of the season.

i still have a lot of faith in wideman and really hope he is not dealt. i think it would be a big mistake, last year was not a fluke. he is slowly starting to come around. last year it would take quite a lot to get him from us.

ryder i would trade just to get the contract off the books. but at the same time he has not been terrible. he is what he is, a streaky goal scorer. the problem is that he is counted on to be the number one goal scorer on the Bruins, when what he really is is a secondary scorer on a good team.

i would take a chance on him if i was a contender looking for goal scoring, but we would have to take back expiring money.

stempniak
exelby

for

ryder
a package of picks (IMO at least a 2nd+)

the cap hits are are about even for this season ryder has an extra year on his deal.

Stempniak is more productive than Ryder this year and Exelby gives the bruins some depth on D. Both are UFA's at the end of the season.

Leafs get Ryder for next year on an expiring contract. If he has an up year he can replace some of the secondary scoring lost when Hagman was dealt. Plus they get picks.

Liles for Wideman. Haven't seen many B's games this year, but saw a ton last year and Wideman was rock solid. Maybe he just needs new scenery.

Anaheim's Ryan Whitney for Dennis Wideman, even up.

Both dmen are similar in age, contract value and length, and both could use a change of address. Both players are offensive dmen and can play 25 mins per night. Whitney is a Boston lad so he might find his game playing in his hometown.

This might actually be one of the most reasonable proposals I have ever seen on HF boards.

I have to agree. Whitney is a solid player and I would like to see him as a bruin. What does he have for a salary?
