Lundqvist vs Gaborik

As widely expected, Sweden will face Slovakia in QF. Who do you think will win?

(especially, when Gaborik has a lot to give back to Lundqvist)

Sorry Gabby, but i side with Hank on this one. Consider the fact that seeing each other in practice every day works both ways. Considering how well Sweden has ben playing, I think the edge goes to them for this one.

Everybodys pulling for Hank, hes been here as long as anyone on this team, and is homegrown. No contest.

You know that Lidstrom will be shadowing Gaborik, so I doubt he's going to get many quality chances to score. Granted Gaborik did score 5 goals in a game against Hank, but that was against a swiss-cheese Rangers' defense. From watching every game thus far, Sweden by far has the best "team defense" of any team in the tournament.

I like Hank a lot, but I also like Gabby and the effort he puts in daily. I like the country of Slovakia. Pretty sure my great grandmother was from Czechoslovakia. I will root for Gabby because somebody has to. The guy deserves support from at least some NYR fans. (I just hope Gabby doesn't get re-injured.)

When the Rangers last played the Red Wings - Gaborik had 0 shots on goal. Zetterberg+Lidström will shut him down again.

The final score means nothing to me. I'm rooting that neither one of them become injured.

Slovakia will give Sweden a run for their money, I think Sweden edges it out though

I look at it this way, Slovakia will probably give the Swedes a good game, however if Canada beats Russia (which I hope they do not) they will probably run Slovakia over. So I would prefer to see Sweden win, just so Canada has to play them. All in all though I'm routing for Gabs and Slovakia. Their games have been far more entertaining than the Swedes up to this point.

I hope Sweden changes that and makes these next one or two games exceptional.

Well regardless of the outcome theres a good chance a ranger(or 2) will be in the gold medal game.

You got USA,Sweden,Slovakia,Finland.Three teams that have showed they can play with the big boys and slovakia who already beat russia so they can surprise.

I think the USA should make it to the Gold Medal game. I saw in the paper about an hour ago, they had the bracket, and the USA's only worry on their side is Finland and the Czechs. To me, that's not very scary. Especially when you compare it to the other side... Russia, Canada, Sweden. Both the Fins and Czechs are good, but the US can easily beat them with a hot miller. I think it might be Sweden vs USA for Gold.

Hmm, maybe they can shut him down, but our offense is not only Gabby (I hope that nyr fans will say this too someday ). I expect very close & low scoring match

I want Sweden. And it's just because I want Gaborik to have a week off to rest before the season starts again. The dude needs it. Henrik needs it too, but he's shown he can be fine with the work load. Gaborik needs to rest.

After watching my Canadian boys see any chance they had at a medal go down the drain due to Babcocks lack of coaching abilities, I am pulling for the KING to win his second gold medal.....and hopefully come back to us riding a high!

I'm hoping for an entertaining game. I'm not siding. If there is a team besides the US that I am siding for, it's Finland.

As long as the US is in the Gold Medal game, I'm happy. If we have to face Sweden and Hank - one of my favorite Rangers of all time - I hope we rack the score and force him to the bench.
