You read my mind. This is exactly what my dream scenario would look like. To make it more realistic, Thornton, Heatley, and Marleau combine for 4 goals, and Luongo gives up 5. I cannot root for Canada any more.

This will get ugly, I expect an angry Canadian team which will try to destroy Germany right from the get go.

5-0 or 6-0 for Canada if Germany plays like they did against Sweden, 11-0 if they play like in the other two games.

0 - 10 if Patzold starts in net. 0 - 7 if Greiss starts in net. This is going to be brutal.

Tonight, Greiss must take a page from the book of Phil Ken Sebben:

Quote:
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, and from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip-malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moments lost in time; gone like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die."
GO Canada.

I love me an underdog story so I'm gonna root for Germany.

They really have no chance though. If they somehow someway got through Canada tonight, they would have to play Russia. Talk about the odds being stacked against you. And that's all BEFORE the Gold Game.

Go Germany!

Ugh so lame. I've already been relegated to watching most of the games streaming online anyway since I don't have any cable or dish, so this'll be no different. Plus I'll be at work anyway and have my own computer here so lets just say that not much working will be done starting at noon

Good luck with that.
That's counting an awful lot of chickens. Once we get into the top 8 every team has a legit NHL goalie which means any of them could win any game. Slovakia over Sweden would not be a crazy upset, and the Czech-Finland winner over the US would not shock anyone, I don't think.

That's counting an awful lot of chickens too. Canada has to get by Germany, then Russia, then Sweden/Slovakia, then USA/Czech/Finland. The only crazy upset in that bunch would be Germany over Canada.

Is Nem still missing?

EDIT: Nope, saw him post in another thread. Let's hope Germany wins so we can give him a warm welcome back.

Wasn't saying Canada will necessarily win all of those, just that the other parts of the bracket aren't exactly set either.

I guess my fantasy outcome would be a 3-2 Canada win, with Joe Thornton scoring the game-winner in the final minute of regulation.

Unless for whatever reason they decide to play Patzold. Then lets hope Canada wins 10-0

Hey if it's Patzoidberg in net, I wouldn't mind seeing a rout of epic proportions. Double it: 20-0.
