To me, this game epitomizes why Avery shouldnt lose his job, and even in a somewhat meaningless preseason game with 27 people in the stands, the Devils were still fixated on him every time he hit the ice.

HAHAHA Oh man the devils are going to be a joke this season. Fatty is geting old, and they only have one line. Can't wait till they trade away another key defenseman as well LOL

I think I'd really like to see Gilroy get one of the defensive spots.

Perhaps XLB as well. I know people hate him and he was awful, but the guy can really play physical and hopefully the Rangers coaches can coach him up a bit.

Look for Exelby to be in the next round of cuts.

Fedotenko will not be.

Nice of some of the players elevating their game towards the end. Maybe torts conditioning fetish pays off? Eminger and xlb still stink. Fedotenko still hanging on. Anisimov, cally, and avery looked good. Good lord are kovy and clarkson dopes. Boogaard had better start making people fight him by crushing people or he is an utter waste.

Oh, and lets not be those guys and go over to their board, mkay? You know theres going to be quite a bit of anger, and a lot of smears on the rangers right now. Keep it between avery and kovy

Pretty much. Avery is like money in the bank against Kovalschmuck. Avery was in everyone's head tonight.

Guys, I know it is sweet to beat the Devils but lets put this in perspective, its a pre-season game. Its all about looking at the young players or the players on the bubble. Winning is second to evaluating and figuring out what the team needs to work on.

Meaningless game, I know, but it was still entertaining. But some Rangers probably guaranteed they'll be in the next round of cuts after tonight.

Miracle on ice? Umm yes.

Where was Grachev in the second half of the game?

He had one real nice setup from behind the net. Other than that, he was in the same place he was during the first half. Relatively invisible.

Don't take this win too far, but it was fun to watch our team, missing our 1st line and 1st pair defense, beat most of Jersey's club.

Valentenko and Semenov were the best D pairing by far on the ice tonight.

Anisimov looked a little behind, but not really a point of concern with me.

Eminger was meh. I really prefer Semenov as the 7th.

Exelby needs to be cut.

Standout players for me were Cally, Anisimov, Ftank, Vtank, Avery (obviously), and Exelby (in a bad way).

Was not at all impressed with Grachev.

XLB? really?

The guy was brutal tonight, and i mean brutal.

He wasnt even physical. I'll pass on Purinton part 2.

Oh yea...Did White play?

Boy was his invisible. I noticed him one time all game. Not a chance he makes the team.

Ugh this is really bothering me. He was amazing last pre-season. They demoted him and he did squat in the AHL.

XLB goes out of his way to hit people, but when it comes down to actually playing D, he's awful. Sucks though.. I had my hopes up for him. Valentenko is a safer choice, but I still think Sauer/McD will make the team before Tank.
