he runs a bar frequented by rangers org people? that's kind of pushing it, credibility-wise. While there might be something to the report that Girardi isn't travelling with the team, I wouldn't put any stock into anything else he's trying to sell.

Yeah, I'm not here to claim he's 100% credible, but it was posted on the main board so I figured since it involves SJ it might as well be here, too.

quite frankly, the main board has terrible standards. They'll take pretty much anything that's not a joke twitter account, along with a shocking # of disreputable sites. While I don't fault you for wanting to spur conversation, I think we can all agree that since it's our board, we should be able to hold our rumormongering to a higher standard.

and I will personally shoot the first person that tries to peddle a hockeybuzz link here.

I think if I can somehow make Eklund post it here, you are gonna become a bigger hero than Crosby.

Remember when Eklund threads were automatically locked? Why can't we bring that back?

Yeah, that's cool. He tweeted something along the lines of, "Almost afraid to report what I'm told, don't want to sound like an Eklund". That gives me the impression that he's, if nothing else, at least not a BS machine.

For the Sharks he's probably a 4/5 guy who plays on the 2nd PP.
Strange - looking at his TOI stats, he's last among all Rangers' dmen in PP time at 8 seconds per game. Wonder what's up. Plays a ton on the PK, though

Objectively speaking... do the Rangers have a single player that would make a Heatley deal even remotely considerable?

NYR fan here, I come in peace.

Rangers tend to ride out their first PP unit with four forwards and Del Zotto, d-man PP QB.

Girardi's (lack of a) shot probably holds him back from being utilized more on the PP but defensively speaking - he is steady as they come. On a team like San Jose, he'd be a good #3 or #4, imo.

While I don't buy into the rumors myself, it should be interesting to see what (if anything) happens.

Probably not. We've got a bevy of great defensive talent in the AHL and a couple of debilitating big contracts up front. I don't think the Rangers can make anything work unless a separate deal were to go through. I don't know what your cap situation is like but I'm sure you're just as capstrapped as us.

absolutely the Sharks are. and rereading my post it sounds like i'm bagging on the Rangers, but i didn't mean to. It's just that Heatley is in the Gaborik / Lundqvist level of players. so we're talking about gutting two teams coming down the stretch.

Could Girardi run a PP? I really know next to nothing about him. Sharks do need a 3/4 to bump Blake down to > 20 mins per game.

do you mean <20? I agree though, we need someone to cut down his minutes as he plays much better with less.

duh, I passed math class, I think. Yeah, need a legit top 4 to cut down Blake's minutes. Heck, even DW agrees!

He's a partner with HF.

Expect to see Zidlicky re-sign with the Wild. Could be three years, 12 million.

San Jose Sharks: They could use one more depth defenceman, although they dealt for Carolina's Niclas Wallin last month. The bottom end -- Kent Huskins, Jay Leach and Jason Demers -- is a little shaky.
