Corey Perry was going to get owned, eh? LOL

Why is an American lurking in a Canada-Russia Appreciation thread????
And wait for the first sign of said "American hate" to bust out that picture. Funny. You must have that picture saved and ready to go.

But a great win all the same.
Sheesh, I'm not melting down. It was a great win for Canada, and my Sharks played a big role in it (even on the bad side of it )
However, don't play high and mighty by bashing Team USA in this thread! I came in here with peaceful intentions only to read obnoxious, arrogant, pompous crap from the Canadians.

You forgot FLUKE goals. Something both USA and the Swiss had.

I just have to say, the bar I was at was half CDN and half RUS, and Russian fans are AWESOME!!!

It was 7-3 and they were still singing and cheering. I was very impressed! Despite the fact that most of them didn't seem to understand the rules they were still amazing to party with considering their team was eliminated.

Hats off!!

P.S. European chicks are hot as *******

Bring on the Americans, we are finally playing as a team. U.S has no chance against the Canadians if we play like we did tonight.

I haven't been here long...

but it's really funny reading the Usa-canada feud...

i was born in the states...but lived most of my life in Canada....i have both citizenship...

but some americans really need a wake up call when they think their team can compete with the canadian team in a long term...a one night win...luck...good goaltending....sure..

it's just fact...nothing to really get mad about...

and i agree there's a lot of arrogance from canadians fans...that's just a inferiority complex...affraid of losing the only thing their good at....

but we need to look at things objectivly tho....This Canadian Team is too powerful...and tonight's game was just a taste of it...

i would'nt have said the same thing 4 years ago....but some people needs to stop being offended...

USA has a lot of hearts and speed...and they've suprised a lot of folks since the beggining.....and surely if they win..it will be another miracle on ice....

If you are a book-maker, where would you put the spread in a Canada-USA Gold Medal Game with Canada as the home team? -0.5 USA? Sure, if you want to lose your shirt and bankrupt the house. Nah, I'm thinking the spread would be closer to -2.5 to -3.5, meaning that if you bet on Canada, Canada would have to win by 3 or 4 to win any money. I think it's a fair statement really...

Exactly, USA played crappy against the Swiss in an elimination game, not a preliminary where only positioning is at stake.

exactly, Brodeur lost it for Canada.. We owned the puck in that game and Miller kicked arse

As a lacrosse coach here in California, I'll debate your claim to lacrosse superiority. We took a youth team to a BC box lax tourny last summer and spanked all the Canadian teams. But that's another subject!

Canada may still lead the world in hockey, but the gap is closing fast

He and his team have been dominant all week. Bernard was also dominant but she didn't get good help from her first and second. She was always there to save the day though...

Back to Russians, thanks for your compliments. You showed way more class than Americans...

BTW, I was not expecting this. The Russians are better than they played, but Canada played near flawless. I'm sure Russia will come back with something to prove in Sochi.
Agreed, Russia (particularly Nabokov) had a lousy game, Canada brought their A-game tonight. It's too bad we can't see these teams in a series where both would have a chance to bring their A game, that would be amazing stuff.

and BTW, classy post by Siberian, I didn't expect it, but you've earned my respect.
