Pass. Thorburn has been a useful PKer. I'm skeptical Lisin will amount to anything in the NHL.

Metropolit
D'Agonstini

for

Kozlov
2nd rd pick

gives the habs a player who might look good in their top 6/9 with an expiring contract, while Atlanta gets a useful part for the rest of this year in Metro, and a mid-range prospect in D'Agostini.
A 2nd rounder for D'Agonstini?
We've seen Metro before.
Pass

i'd love to get metropolit back but that probably has more to do with him being my favorite player and less to do with him being a valuable asset. i'll pass.

He'll more than likely end up in Montréal. Which other team has a collection of small forwards ?
D'agostini sucks and has negative value.

I could see him going to Pittsburgh for a 3rd or 4th like Guerin did. It's not like he could play worse than Fedotenko

Not at his pricetag, though.

While he may be a good fit for Montreal, I sincerely doubt he'll be traded to a team that Atlanta has a very good chance of beating out for a playoff spot. He'll either go out west, or to a team (such as the Pens) with whom the Thrashers aren't really competing.

Sad way for him to end his career in Atlanta, but all things must come to an end. He was fun to watch when he was good, but he's well past his shelf life. Best of luck to him, but the club has moved on from a lot of the prior distractions. First Kovalchuk, then Lehtonen, now Kozlov. Armstrong may be next.

all that for the low price of a 3rd rounder a swap of 2nd rounders.

If the Thrashers could trade for that sort of "failure" every off season I'd be thrilled!
The missing stat -- 4 Playoff games. Total.

... Because they were really counting on him to make the playoffs?

Yea, didn't think so.

As a key scorer on the team over the course of his career there... I would imagine so. It was one of his many beefs when he was in Buffalo, that he wanted to go to a contender. We're talking about a guy who went on a tirade in a tennis pro shop about being in WNY, the Sabres, the Sabres playoff chances, and the community... before he'd even set foot on the ice and had been in town for less than a week. That he has played in 4 playoff games since being part of the Hasek deal is some karmic come up-pence of the highest order. He was a massive ******* when he was here.

So, it's his fault that the teams he has played for have missed the playoffs?

As the second highest scorer on those teams, he shares in the responsibility, certainly.

Montréal will probably pay you double what anyone else will. This team loves small forwards.

The Pens would have to send some salary back, or send somebody to the minors. If the deal were Kozlov for a pick, the Pens would end up about $88,000 over the cap.
