I still find it hilarious how the kid could score 7 pts in 7 games, including crucial game winners against the Swiss, and of course in today's gold medal game, yet people will still try to find ways to crap on him, simply because they are too ignorant and hard headed to give up on their hate rants.

Golden.

87 was right there in the thick of it all tournament long. He is known for his tenacity and thats a big part of what
led to his historic goal.

Getzlaf missed a fair amount of chances himself in this tournament, as well as looking pretty damned below average in the first 3 games. But ok

They have nothing left now... this was the true dagger in their hearts.

He does blow at carrying flags though... maybe a hater can make an avatar about that.

Although I am a Caps fan and OV is my favorite player, I have admitted this whole year that no doubt Crosby is the best player in the world. I just wish he would stop doing those gay Tim Horton commercials.

The amazing part is how he held the crown through an Oly Tournament where so many others could have stolen the conch.

Iginla's boardwork and pass was 75% of the winning goal. I'm sure by the end of evening it will be a tournament that Crosby dominated.
You sir, are a moron.

On topic, Crosby was good, but not great throughout the Olympics. Solid on the puck, more than enough chances, but he seemed a little snakebitten. But none of that matters now, can't think of a more fitting way to end this tournament than Crosby scoring in overtime for Canada, against the co-best team in the Olympics.

I guess you missed Crosby getting the puck to Jerome in the first place or getting it in the zone. He played a team game this whole tournament and was rewarded!!

Out of all Olympic Hockey teams a majority wouldn't even consider hockey one of their top 3 sports yet is is clearly the number 1 sport in Canada. Basketball isn't close to being the #1 sport in the United States and a majority of other Olympic Basketball teams view it as in their top 3 sports.
A more fair comparison would be the United States winning the gold in American Football. With all due respect to Canada its rather amazing to me that they don't swee all international competitions for the amount of time their population puts into it compared with others.

I agree that there were a handful of players who had more of an impact than Crosby throughout the series, but that last goal was obviously crucial. No one can say that kid's a choker.

Either your hockey knowledge is middling at best or you are a Crosby hater. Either way, your opinion holds no merit. There are many factors that can be looked at when determining the worth of a player - awe is not important. Crosby took a struggling franchise and helped turn it around at a young age. He is the youngest captain to win a Stanley Cup. His game, notably faceoffs and shooting have definitely improved this year. He plays on a team with average wingers at best and still puts up outstanding numbers. He is one of the greatest players to come around and as a leader sets an outstanding example in terms of work ethic and class. I'd build a franchise around him anytime.

I don't remember the last time any awards were given out for awe.

There's no player in the world that comes close to Crosby. NO ONE.

Sid is the best player in the game today, period.

My guess is that Crosby isn't 100%, he did have an injury before the Olympics and this is why he looked a little weak in a few games. Scoring the game winning goal should take alot of heat off him.

I know the kid gets too much flack. I think it's a bit of jealousy.

It's not his fault he was so good and was put on a huge pedestal. It's not his fault he's just a winner. He won at every level. He scored the biggest goal in recent canadian history tonight. It's not his fault he's just that good. I'm not even a penguins fan, yet I love the kid. Every team would die three times over to get him on their team!

THANK YOU SIDNEY FOR DELIVERING A SHINY GOLD MEDAL TO CANADA!

you'll always have haters. It don't matter, keep on winning!
