Uhh he could barely get to the bench after that last rush.

He took 3-5 strides and could barely get over the boards.

Yeah he seems just fine to me to.

Yeah, I've been watching most of the game, switching back and forth between that and the 'Cuse game, but I don't think Gabby looks as bad as some are making it out to be.

What feed are you guys watching in the States?

On Tsn Ferraro has been talking about how ''not right'' he looks and how he's in discomfort on the bench and how ''he could barely get off the ice''.

And Gaborik is my favorite player in the NHL, I've been watching him since he came in the league so I know when he's not right.

Seems more likely that the media is playing up any possible issue.

Players often look like they can barely get over the boards after a shift

And I have to laugh at fans from another team coming in with "oh man, it looks bad, he looks like he can barely play, oh man you guys should be worried" piss off

Sounds like announcers of CTV are making a big thing out of Gaborik's injury causing the viewers to look for things that may not be there.

Kenny and Joe haven't been obsessing over it that much and I've been paying close attention to Gaborik. I'm not seeing what the CTV viewers are in terms of him practically skating on one leg.

if any commentators are going to obsess over it, then it'd be kenny and joe. they don't seem overly bothered.

he's obviously not 100%, but there's loads of players at this point in the season that are playing thru pain.

totally agree, he went into the freaking tournament banged up, no one is saying he's 100%, but jeez, people make it sound like he's off to the hospital once the game ends. I'm not getting concerned until he stops taking regular shifts with the outcome still in question.

He better be in the lineup for NYR next week, If he can play in the Olympics in pain he can play for us in pain too. I don't wanna hear any BS. Were the ones paying him, not Solvakia.

I can agree with that, if he's willing to play through pain for them, he should for us too...with that said, what are we really playing for? I'd hate to see him turn some discomfort into a serious injury to try and get the 8th spot, he's under contract for a few more years

He will have the entire off season to heal.

At the end he was dragging ass but i'm assuming its because he was gassed. If he was able to skate at full speed then that means his leg is probably back to almost normal. he'll have two full days off before the next game (I highly doubt he'll participate in practice Monday), hopefully that's enough time for him to rest up and play on Tuesday night.

Yea, I agree, what are we really playing for? I don't want to see Gaborik hurt himself even more just to get into the 8th spot to get our a** handed to us by WAS, PIT, or even NJD. I'd rather him take some extra time if need be, same goes for DZ, Hank, Cally, Drury, etc.

Gaborik showed the heart of a lion today. On the Canadian telecast, Ray Ferraro was between the benches. Gaborik was clearly labouring. Near the end of the game, Ferraro would say in amazement "Gaborik is back on the ice"

You guys should be proud to have him.

The Rangers looked at Gaborik and didn't seem too concerned

Quote:
In addition to being examined by the Slovakian medical staff, Gaborik also was believed examined following Friday nightís match by Rangersí athletic trainer Jim Ramsay, who is serving in the same role for Team Canada.

Though neither Ramsay nor the Rangers have jurisdiction in this Olympic matter, the Blueshirts did not seem overly concerned yesterday by the wingerís condition. Gaborik, who has scored 35 goals in 58 games for the Blueshirts, has not missed a single game because of the hip and groin issues that turned him into a part-time player much of his career in Minnesota

I think Gabby will be fine, no practice for the next 3 days then he plays vs Ottawa on Tues. What heart to give it his all of his country. BTW Oli "clean shave" Jokininen. Fantastic performance .That was a great deal by Sather even if he's a UFA

The people saying Gaborik should play through pain for the Rangers should remember that the Rangers have final say over whether he's going to be in the lineup, and they've definitely shown that they're cautious with Gaborik and any injuries he might get. If he sits out it's most likely because the Rangers want him to

Apparently Gabby is going to play tomorrow night against OTT per Gross.

http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/rangerrants/

The word is that there are no issues in terms of Gaborik’s availability tomorrow night - he will play.

Just wanted to bump this up with some quotes from Brooksie

Quote:
That's because Gaborik, the Rangers' essential goal-scoring machine, sustained what is believed to be a groin injury playing in the Games last week for Slovakia that will keep him out of tonight's game here against the Senators, if not -- as seems likely -- for at least several more matches.
Quote:
Gaborik is believed to have suffered a groin pull during the tournament after adapting his skating style in order to be able to cope with the deep thigh wound he sustained in a Feb. 9 practice mishap involving Henrik Lundqvist. The Great Gabby missed two of the final three games before the NHL break and was able to play 4:02 in the other.
