Well, I didn't see him before the quarterfinals. But Stastny being (and staying) worthless probably had something to do with it.

Suter continues to be the most underrated defenseman in this tournament. Rafalski gets the nod over him because of his goals, but Suter lead the US in ice time, assists, and plus/minus...

As a Predators fan I feel spoiled getting to watch Suter and Weber patrol our blue line on a nightly basis...

Toews was playing like Kesler defensively and as good as anyone offensively outside of maybe Demitra.

I think he deserved it over Parise.

Toews and Parise were both named to the All-tournament team I believe.

I canīt believe Parise was picked instead of Kane

Anyone who knows about hockey as I do, would choose Pat Kane for All-star.

This is my team:

Ryan Miller

Erik Johnson
Chris Pronger

Pavol Demitra
Ryan Getzlaf
Pat Kane

The only other players who could claim an all-star spot are:
Shea Weber
Jonathan Toews
Ryan Kesler

I'd say Doughty could spell out Weber.

Oh please Kane had 2 goals in the tourney in a 6-1 game while Zach had 5 with 2 goals in a 2-0 game and that huge last minute goal to put in overtime.

Parise>>>Kane in this tourney and as an overall player.

Pretty spot on I'd say. Although I do have a little bit of an issue including Rafalski as he made a lot of mistakes in his own end throughout the tournament.

No complaints here!

Atta boy Jonny Clutch!! Making Winnipeg and Canada proud...and to think some doubted him being on this team.

Parise scored against Canada in both games. Who cares if he didn't score a goal in the first 2? Definately agree about Stastny though. Its hard to blame Burke, but Gomez likely would have been the better pick because of his speed and experience, but I mean the US came 1 shot away from gold, so nothing can be questioned imo.

A good selection. At least they didn't go with an "easy" pick of Crosby.

Rafalski >> Doughty
Toews >> Parise

Didn't mean to highlight Demitra

But Kane is a ridiculous choice and Erik Johnson was wayyyyy to up and down

I LOOOVE Ryan Suter.

I thought he was USA's best all-around defenseman.

I'll definitely make more of an effort to catch some of the Preds' games to watch Suter and Weber.

God what are you doing on a internet forum, you should call TSN for a job at the least, maybe you could even get a job as a coach

Drew Doughty was jaw-dropping, but I mean he wasn't the best. I think people are confusing "best" and "Great" with "extremely surpassing expectations"

He'll get his though. Just a matter of time

He did, but I don't think anyone would have made too big a deal if Parise had been chosen

I can't help wondering if you had started out assuming you didn't know everything and settled on "my opinion" would it have been taken more seriously

Very rare in IIHF tournaments that players not on the first two teams and especially not on the first 3 teams, get an award or place on the all-star team. Pavol Demitra respect.

These Olympics turned me into a huge Ryan Suter fan. Same goes with Shea Weber. I just might become a Nashville fan yet.
