Well, if that's the case, I guess I'm glad Iginla scored the most goals.

IGINLA WINS!

I think the US has to be super proud of what this team accomplished. To lose in overtime in the gold medal game isn't really losing in my eyes.

Congrats to USA, they took a huge leap forward from the embarrassment of 2006. This team will compete for years to come and I for one look forward to cheering against them

Hard fought battle with the Canadians with a well assembled TEAM. The best choices I thought by Burke were Callahan, Kesler, and Drury. That was a feared PK in my opinion, oh yeah, and that Miller guy.

Well done, hold your heads up high!

Good thing your genius "mind" doesn't have anything to do with the Olympics, reality, or how a tournament style play works.

Gold > handfuls of bronze medals

I thought we played great.

After a week or so i can put into perspective. On paper we are not the number 2 nation on the world. Off paper we are still not the concensius #2. But we made a case, and after a few more tourmanets like this. We will emerge. We are young, hungary and could have the exact same team in 4 years.

This is what the sport needs in America. Some national attention. A good game.

Coming in. I was hoping we would at least be playing for a medal. Maybe not get embarressed. Hard loss to swallow. In perspective, it was a great run.

I think it shows once again why hockey is such a great team game.

It requires chemistry, hard work and effort, and those teams that think they can get by on talent alone, often fall short.

The Finns, Slovakia, the US, and Canada were definitely the hardest-working teams in the tournament.

It's going to take a lot more than a silver medal to get America interested in hockey. It's probably one of the most expensive sporting events to attend in America, and it's cheaper to go to a football, baseball, or basketball game, which are more popular too. The best thing that could have happened for the NHL would have been a USA gold medal, because like our canadian "friends" are so fond of pointing out, silver medalists are just losers.

That was one of the most entertaining games I've ever watched. In OT is was a coin flip either way. Here is something to ponder: If US does not beat Canada in round robin, they probably would have won a lop-sided victory yesterday.

**** Canada, too many of their fans are acting so damn cocky.

I wish they would give us more credit. The U.S. played an amazing tournament. We only lossed one game - and it was the Gold Medal game. We took it to OT and did NOT make it easy on Canada at all. Plus, we were 1-0-1 against them and they were 1-1 against us. We played them real tough and almost beat them both times.

Silver is still GREAT. So you dumbass Canadian fans that are trying to degrade us by saying "enjoy your silver medal" -- thanks, I will. I'm ecstatic with silver considering nobody even predicted us to finish with a medal in the first place.

Team USA played their hearts out and played good every game IMO.

Ryan Miller is such a stud. Easily the MVP of the Tournament. He dominated everyone; enough said.

One nation under Miller. He is God.

So proud of this team, and I love my country.

How much Credit do you want? The majority of posts by Canadians in this thread are congratulating the US on a well deserved silver medal, and saying that they had as good a shot as Canada at taking gold, no one is saying that you guys were completely outclassed, because you weren't. I guess the only way we could give you more credit is to say congrats on your series "tie" as certain American posters have said, but there was no "tie".

As for the second bolded, I'm not going to touch that, but the view looks a little different from up here.

Sigh....ya he's not with the majority of us. But give us credit on the fact that we only 'lossed' one game.

I guess you were away from these boards when the US won the round robin game?

After all that crap, any smack talk from Canadians towards americans is deserved.

No doubt about it

Hope they all get a mention in the pre-game when they play their first game back. There's a thread on the Pens board to give Miller a standing ovation before the start of the game in Pittsburgh
