Rumours had been flying around of Poni going to Pitts, but now we see what is potentially going the other way.

Quote:
Sources tell TSN a deal is in place for forward Alexei Ponikarovsky to be traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for prospect Luca Caputi but at this point, Pittsburgh has to move a contract for salary cap reasons first.

Sources say the deal may be completed tonight.

I was quoting 'Blackhawkswincup', but her/his post vanished.

Mixed reviews so far in this thread, but I came here to say that this is a good signing. He's tailed off a bit, but now he comes to another competitive club. Boston was competitive and then he traded to sucky ass Phoenix. Actually he had a terrific season last year with equally sucky Florida.

I don't know what the fuss is all about. Y'all should happy.

And Richmond?? Dude's got wheels, but your goaltenders' GAAs will rise.

I think that is going to haunt the Pens to be honest.

Not this year of course as this move will make them better but I think Caputi will be very good in longterm

And Boynton also quit on his teammates last year and was disruptive in lockerrom in Florida,, Yippie!

I am really hoping that this Vokoun rumor has some legs. Tonight has to have shown to Stan that he needs to get something done. If not Vokoun, please, any other goalie that will play consistently average to slightly above average at least.

This. He is my first choice with a very close 2nd being Roli.

And Interesting info from Chris Botta, the Islanders PR guy/ great source

From Botta's Twitter Feed:

"ChrisBottaNHL

I'm told the Islanders have an offer that would involve absorbing a big salary. (They have the cap space). Charles Wang will be consulted."

It's dead.... Panthers insiders for Miami Herald say they have been told Vokoun will not be moved unless something dramatic happens.

If Hawks could pry Roloson out of Long Island I would be happy

Late night trade

St Louis gets RW Matt D'Agostini
Montreal gets RW/LW Aaron Palushaj

I think Habs win this trade , I like Palushaj. But I think D'Agostini will find a role in Stl and this will work for both teams

Agree, Habs get the better of this deal. Wow, it seems like our whole division is somewhat busy now except for us.

This is coming from Kypreos (twitter):

Quote:
Tomas Vokoun has told Randy Sexton he will lift his no trade to a small list of contending teams only. Add him to a growing goalie list.

Can we please get a good goalie? Please Stan, I'm beggin ya. How can our team and us as fans feel we have a hope in hell with the shape our goaltending is in. We have the assets, just do something for christ's sake. If Nick Boynton was our big move then this team deserves to die out early in the playoffs. Us as fans see it, yet our high paid management/ownership does'nt.

From sounds of Bowman + Mackenzie/Dreger

Hawks are standing pat on goaltending front

Coyotes just ripped off the Avs

Wolski goes to Coyotes
Mueller and Porter go to Avs

Mueller is on verge of busting and doesn't seem to have the heart for game and Porter is a average prospect/bottom 6 tweener

I think it has more to do with salary cap, then just the Hawks management not seeing our needs. You can bet that on this day, there are a number of GMs saying they will eat our salary but knowing where we are and what we have, it'll cost us huge. I doubt the Hawks want to give to too much.

I just saw that. I am really surprised Mueller was even on the market.

Mueller has fallen apart as far as development. He also is a bit of a headcase when it comes to effort.

If this doesn't wake him up he will be out of hockey in 2 years

Then we will flame out early, it's as simple as that. Khabby last year in the playoffs was'nt Dominik Hasek but he came up with the big save at the right time. This year we don't have that. Without a real goalie we're ****ed. We will probably draw Detroit in the first round and they will eat us alive. How can we not at least bring in Roloson.

Stan do what you need to do to sweeten the pot. Versteeg, Sweatt, picks, hookers, champagne. Prediction we lose in the first round, Stan gets fired, they hold a press conference. Versteeg is traded for next to nothing, and then they have another convention. One goal- to **** us as fans.
