anyone else bummed the Olympics are over?

It has been a great 2 weeks, and now I'm a little bummed having to go back to watching the NHL.

The NHL is great mind you, but we witnessed some of the best hockey ever played yesterday, and throughout the games.

I wish the Olympics came more often. I understand why they don't - but still.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, I am bummed. As a Leaf fan, I won't be seeing a good team for a good while, that I follow. From seeing Crosby, Getzlaf, Thornton, Keith, Doughty, and Toews all on the same team, to seeing Kessel and Phanuef. Plus, I loved watching all the other sports and watching every gold medal run.

Most of all I'll miss the sheer joy at thrashing the likes of Germany, Norway ....

...and Russia.

Thank you Slovakia, Switzerland and the US for actually showing up to compete and adding some more grey hairs to my head.

no, I'm ready for the NHL to start back up. Pretty cool that the deadline is so close, too.

See, if the NHL didn't take part in the Olympics, you wouldn't have this problem.

i wish betmann never expanded, it diluted the game.

now that they are here i dont want any city to lose their team but boy oh boy. just over 20 teams would be a lot better.

It'll sure be weird to watch non-blowout games.

It'll be weird watching fights too.
I actually preferred the no fighting, made the game quicker.

Yes and no. I will somewhat miss all of the national pride and excitement that the olympics bring, but after a couple weeks of the olympics being on every night, I was starting to get burnt-out on it.
Im looking foreward to getting back into the swing of the NHL season, the NHL playoffs and the WCHA and NCAA hockey playoffs.
Im even looking foreward to March Madness a bit.

I have to go back to watching endless turnovers by Malkin, and horrible defence by Gonchar, rather than benefitting from them.

Send a message via AIM to LAX attack*
I will miss all the events
But I am not that saddened that the NHL Will be back
And it eases the pain of the Trade Deadline being in 2 days

Two weeks is pretty much just right.

If it went much longer, people would really start to get sick of it and it's better to leave them wanting more.

I'm going to miss cheering for a winner. Watching these games brought back memories of Maple Leaf playoff hockey. They better make the playoffs next year!

What?

I feel the complete opposite. Olympics is just a two-week long series of exhibition games for me, the NHL is "real."

Wah wah. At least 25 other teams would love to put up with Malkin's ineptitude.

It'll be hard to watch for a couple of days, after the caliber of hockey we were used to over the past 17 days. But it'll be alright. Right?
