Yeah **** that, don't believe you for a second that it will get better, going straight from Doughty to Hal Gill is going to be painful.

At least the playoffs start in like six weeks!

They'll be a very boring six weeks of hockey in comparison though...

Just cancel the rest of the year and hold the draft in two weeks.

i'm going to miss the hockey games that is for sure. it will be hard to get back into the feel of seeing a team not built to be a power house. and just seeing all the time shift after shift of pure hockey skill.

and well now that the olympics are over, i am bored again nothing to watch on tv again lol.

people say olympics are dumb because its 2 weeks, no training camp, no chemistry.
but what I witnessed on team canada was the most amazing crisp passes, speed, hockey iq, tight checking and defence ever in my life. Then again, I am a leaf fan

Gary Bettman needs to take the temperature of the NHL fanbase on the question of NHL participation in 2014. I know he doesn't want to give away bargaining chips with the NHLPA for nothing, but the fans - that is the people who pay for tickets want to see the NHL players in Sochi.

I'm pretty sure he is well aware of that.

The NHL is great mind you, but we witnessed some of the best hockey ever played yesterday, and throughout the games.

I wish the Olympics came more often. I understand why they don't - but still.

Anyone else feel this way?

The Olympics were good for a while, but the city was a zoo for 3 weeks. I'll miss the patriotism and nation pride during that whole stretch, but I will not miss the traffic stoppages, and the whole city turned upside down. As someone said, it was just right. The games were a nice diversion. Any longer, it would have seemed too long. I am ready for the NHL to resume.

Im looking foreward to getting back into the swing of the NHL season, the NHL playoffs and the WCHA and NCAA hockey playoffs.
Im even looking foreward to March Madness a bit.
Me too and I am sick of curling. NBC managed to blow the coverage from our own continent. Way to go you stupid NYC losers!!!

It felt great cheering for 23 all stars instead of Mathieu Darche and Hal Gill.

In a word - yes.

In more words - I love Olympic hockey. I really like the Winter Olympics in general - the Summer Olympics not as much. The skiing and skating are fun to watch every four years. But the hockey is what makes the Olympics special for me. IMO - the best 2 weeks of hockey. The skill and passion is great to see and the games are played with less dirty play and cheap shots.
