Bogus link. It said "Hammer" meaning Hamhuis, MTL fan assumed Hamrlik

Somebody needs to inform Montreal fans to knock it off already. It's getting old.

Would you guys be happy with the deal of Parent for Hamhuis?

Also, didn't you acquire Parent from Nashville via the Forsberg deal?

I don't like it if Hamhuis is just a rental.

I would be fine with having him for an inexpensive three year deal.
3 more years of mediocre goaltending then. Seriously, he reminds of Esche with the exception that he has more NHL time under his than Esche did when he got traded here. At least if they go after Halak, Harding, or Schnieder in the offseason, they are younger and have room to grow into a legit starter in this league.

No way JVR or Giroux should be in the discussion, I mean, I'd try to deal Marshall/Bartulis before I deal Parent tbh and considering Hamhuis is a pending UFA, we might be able to get away without giving up Parent.

Even if we did give up one of JVR or Giroux I'd want something great back.

The team is doing okay as presently constructed with mediocre goal tending. Obviously we would all like for them to get a great goalie, but I just don't see it happening due to organizational philosophy to date and their cap situation. So I am looking at what's realistic. Dan Ellis is definitely better than Michael Leighton though. He looked fantastic for Nashville the year before Rinne broke out, and not too shabby this year. I remember him losing an elimination game to the Red Wings like 1-0 and he made something like 51 saves.

why? Parent is always injured. Sure, when he's healthy, he's a top 4 d-man. But how often is he healthy? not very. if he's the centerpiece to get Hamhuis, and he isnt a rental, Homer should go for it

I think it's worth the gamble.

Bart and Marshall probably top out as No.5 guys whereas Parent definitely has No.3 potential at a really cheap price.

Parent is still relatively young (23 in a couple weeks), chance he will get these problems behind him.

EDIT: I should add that I still think that even if we deal for Hamhuis, we don't resign him without dumping Carle and considering what we'd give up to get Hamhuis in the first place, I dunno if that's worth it.

Just curious who do you think the Flyers would offer Atlanta for Armstrong. They don't need any defenseman or defenseman prospects or it would either be a roster forward, a prospect forward or a draft pick.

Any suggestions?

To Philadelphia:
Dan Ellis
Dan Hamhuis
4th Round '11
3rd Round '10 Conditional of Re-signing (Since Coburn is a RFA)

To Nashville:
Braydon Coburn
Brian Boucher

I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to trade Coburn though

The Flyers don't have much in terms of forwards to give away. Maybe an Asham or Carcillo. As for prospects their top two forward prospects are Patrick Maroon and Stefan Legein. Both are mid level prospects.

As for picks this year the Flyers only have their 4-7 rounders.

They don't really have much that is appealing.

Just how ****ing valuable is Coburn supposed to be, lol.

Unless you're trying to get Dan Ellis a 3rd and a 4th for Brian Boucher...

The one's conditional

I don't know Hamhuis that well, but I see him as a more reliable Coburn, but without the upside. He's an UFA where Coburn is a RFA who at least get some offer sheet consideration. I don't know how much value Ellis has, but I don't see any of the goaltending needing teams besides us going after him.

Thrashers could use either of these two toughness with Colby likely to leave. Although they have kind of address this need by acquiring Artykhin today. 4th Round pick would be too low as well for Colby.

There is no question the Flyers have had discussions with Nashville regarding Dan Hamhuis. A young d-man is the asking price...likely Parent

Huh? He posted it 3 hours ago. I know his name's been tossed around more than Halak's in the past day or so, just posting another link.

Edit: Saw it was posted earlier. So sue me for not reading every ****ing post in every ****ing thread.

Edit 2: Sorry, long day at work.

Zero interest in having that dude in a Flyers' uniform when he ends someone's career.
