I doubt Handzuš will be there. IMO at 22 (if he develops) Jurčo wil be far far better than Ružička and Radivojevič are today. Also please no Marcel Hossa on the top 6, if he has to be there, then checking line at best. The reason why Tatar and Panik are at the WHC right now because they are expected to play a top two line role in Vancouver.
Višňoský will be rtired from the NT by then (IMO he is already thinking about it now), Chára might or might not be as well.
Also the reserves did you just pick all players that were drafted into the NHL? Mr. Marcinko with 4 goals a season in the AHL for example.

No, I meant that you had some of the players there just because they were drafted- like Marcinko.

And as for Višňovský he said even a lon time before the season that it would be nice to hang up the skates after the 2011 WHC in SVK (sme.sk interview), of course he still be playing after that, but it could be the end of his international career if he is available at all.

I'll attempt another Team USA:

Parise-Stastny-Kane
Ryan-Pavelski-Okposo
Brown-Wilson-Kessel
JVR-Kesler-Backes (holy smokes, what a pain in the ass line!)
Callahan

Kreider is my (homer) darkhorse to make the team if I had to pick one

Suter-Erik Johnson
Jack Johnson-Bogosian
Martin-Fowler
Carlson

Miller
Howard
Schneider

OK. Sorry i did not understand your question. But what can i say. I hope Marcinko and some other players will improve their stats in AHL. E.g. Juraj Mikúš was in extraliga big star and in AHL he is almost invisible. The same for Dravecký, that plays for NT in Germany now. However opposite example is Tatár. His stats in AHL are better than in extraliga (of course he was too young last year in HKM Zvolen).

I read that article about Višňovský. I hope he will change his decision. He is not such old player. E.g. Pálffy and Stumpel were 38 in Vancouver. It is similar.

It seems very possible that Marcinko won´t improve his stats in the AHL, I´d say it seems very likely that you will see him in a HC Košice jersey.

Mikúš, well no matter in what league, it is a difference to have or not to have Pálffy on your wing, he was often invisible in games where he played without Ziggy even in Slovakia. A lot also depends on ice-time. Plus from what I know he also is finishing university this year and it might not be easy to get it all together.

Dravecký, he´s numbers in the Slovak league before he went to the AHL weren´t much superior to those he actually got in the AHL, This year, it comes with a lot of ice-time, and also with his height he is much more born for European hockey on the airport they´ve got in Steel Arena in Košice than the small NA rinks. We´ll see next season wehn he´ll play a better Euro league. Quite a few players from our current WHC team probably will.

However Ľubo´s main strength is speed, he will not have much of it by then. Also you might have noticed that this last few seasons he´s been more injury prone, it just comes from the way he plays.

Changed one for you. Stĺlberg can bring some lethal speed IMO.

Chris Stewart possibly?

He had a hell of a year! Fast, great stickhandling, good shot, and did I mention a quantam force?

Would you really pick Howard and Schneider before Anderson?

Anderson is better than Howard. And has Schneider even been a backup consistently yet?

I'd do Miller, Anderson, and Quick.

I also think Galiardi will have a shot at the lineup. Yes I'm an Avalanche fan but he's exactly what they could use on the third and fourth line. He can score, he's one of the best PK'ers, and plays a all around great game. Not to mention he's insanely tenacious and gets under the opponents skin.

If Mueller can continue to find his form as well, I'd say he's got a good shot at making it as well. If he can play the way he did in the 15 games he has for the Avs, I think he'd definitely be a consideration. He has an insanely accurate shot and is a highly underrated passer.

I came to mention Stewart specifically. Canada is loaded, but I would not be surprised to see him on the team.

I've only seen a couple mentions of Colin Wilson, and he's more of an unknown quantity, but I think he'll have a good shot. And, maybe it's all Toronto fans, but I don't think Phaneuf is nearly as likely as this thread suggests.

Here's my guess, admittedly this is a young roster, the average age is 26 when the average age of Stevie Y's roster was 28. On big ice I placed a premium on skating ability, all these guys are adept skaters if not outright burners. Tavares and Eberle as probably the weakest skaters on the roster, but they have plenty of time to improve between now and Sochi.

Hall-Crosby-Duchene
Staal-Getzlaf-Eberle
Kane-Stamkos-Giroux
Richards-Toews-Nash
Tavares

Keith - Doughty
Myers - Weber
Subban - Bouwmeester
Pietrangelo

Ward
Fleury
Mason

Other guys I think will be in the mix:

Iginla
Perry
Luongo
Seabrook
Bergeron
Carter
M. Staal
Phaneuf
Green
J. Staal
Price
Simmonds
Cammalleri
C. Stewart
Burns
Neal
Zajac
Setogouchi
Sharp
Raymond

I think that Hockey Canada will look to add any of the 2010 Olympians that are still playing well in 2014 while looking to fill in the other spots on the team with solid skaters. Looking at this potential team, I'm really hoping that a great goaltender emerges from Canada over the next few years since we look pretty good everywhere else.

Leo Komarov (26) - Petteri Nokelainen (27) - Lauri Korpikoski (27)

Niko Kapanen (36)

Interesting speculation but I miss Pulkkinen in yr list. After all he was the topscorer at the U-18 WJC. 2014 he should be in the same age like Mikael Granlund old enough to play by the seniors.
