TB/Tor (Kaberle)

Read somewhere else that Tampa could be shopping for a PMD. Kaberle's value has been beaten to death but would Tampa be willing to part with Downie?

to Toronto
Steve Downie
TB's 1st in '10
Ty Wishart

to Tampa Bay
Tomas Kaberle
Wayne Primeau

Tampa Bay doesn't even consider this.

Kaberle is good and would be a great addition, but not for this package.

Tampa Bay is a team in transition. Downie would not be as good anywhere else, Wishart could still be a top 4 Defense in the future and a 1st is important to the Lightning.

its just not a good deal for anyone involved. Tampa needs scoring and Downie has provided it for them.

Wow horrendous deal for TB. Not even close really.

First round pick+top defensive prospect who is finally breaking out in the AHL and prob ready for the jump next year+ Downie, who is is going to be a 50-60pt player that does absolutely everything.

TO fans are smoking something if they think they get that package for Kaberle.

The best Id do is:

1st round pick+Walker+mid tier prospect for Kaberle.

Nope. We can get that package it depends on the team and the situation. No one is smoking anything.

Haha, your the one smoking something. No chance Toronto ever trades Kaberle for that package.

horrible deal for Toronto. I'd rather have the Toronto side of the deal over the T.B. side any day of the week.

Bad deal for both sides. As Philly fans know, we'll just keep Downie our little secret since no one knows the dude is for real but fans of Philly & TB.

Kaberle could potentially be a catalyst to kick-starting the TB offense as well. That's his job. Anyway, I believe Steve Downie would be a good player for the Leafs and if his mentality is anything like HockeyFuture's writeup than he's a welcome addition to any team.

The only way Kaberle goes ANYWHERE is in exchange for a legit No.1 Centre.

The only scenario I want to see involving Kabby going to TB would have to see Vinny coming back.

Something Like:

To TB:
Kaberle
Grabovski
Kenny Ryan?

To Tor:
Vincent Lecavalier
2nd Round Pick - 2011

I agree. With a young offensive stud in Stamkos and a captain in desperate need of new scenery, would Vinny be considered available in any way this off-season?

Downie could be an impact player. Not necessarily on the scoreboard any given night but as a teammate. If Brian Burke wrote the dictionary, Truculence and Tenacity would mean Steve Downie.

This deal assumes that Tampa Bay is buyers this deadline and is making a pitch for the playoffs. How safe is Brian Lawton's job over in TB. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tampa Bay make the biggest splash on deadline day.

TB would be gambling their 1st round pick and I wouldn't be opposed of the trade if it was a 2011 1st round pick pick + conditional 2nd in 2011 pick contingent on Kaberle re-signing. OR Wayne Primeau could be exchanged, I'm not really sure what else TB needs. Ponikarovsky?
