Did you buy a newspaper today?

How many people went out and bought a newspaper today?

I remember when I was a kid my dad bought a couple newspapers from the Blue Jays winning the World Series and I always thought that was pretty cool, so today I made sure I went out and bought a couple to remember the moment. Just wondering how many other people went out and bought one?

I went and bought all of them I could find — Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, National Post, even the Hamilton Spectator!

I noticed the Globe and Mail was sold out everywhere, so I assumed it was a pretty good issue and had to drive all over town to find the last one in an out of the way gas station — and wow was it worth it! massive full color poster the size of the entire broadsheet unfolded of the Gold-winning goal!

That Star had a great poster of the team in a line with their medals, and the Sun had a poster of the team shot from center ice after the game.

there's just TONS of articles on every imaginable angle. and all of them reflecting the proud patroitism and joy that most of the country is feeling today.

Well the Toronto Star was free here for the duration of the Olympics, so I'm hbping none of you had to actually buy one.

The front page to the Globe and Mail was brilliant: mere seconds after the goal, the celebration just starting to escalate, it's pure jubilee. It was a full sheet photo, IIRC, with minimal wording. What's great is you can make out two American fans nearly dead center while the Canadians around them are ecstatic.

I saw it at work and I got stuck with The ****ing Province at home.

Can somebody scan in and share the front pages? It barely got a mention over here.

I wont' be deleting the game on my PVR box either.... Anyone have any suggestions how to rip it?

No offense, but those newspapers won't be worth anything until you're in the ground for 200 years. Like my 9/11 copy of the Post and the Daily News, you will never see a huge return on your investment.

I think its more for memories then anything else. Daily papers are usually saved in archives anyways so if you wanted to check something out you could always go there.

haha I highly doubt anyone here is planning on putting their kids through college with the money the make from selling an old newspaper. Clearly people just want a keepsake that will remind them of the greatest hockey game they ever saw.

You´re one of those Americans which want NHL players to stay away from Sotchi because their might be no financial benefit for the league, right?

Anyone who considers a dollar an "investment" is probably not the person I want to get my financial advice from.

Trading spare change for posters and pictures of your heros: priceless.

I got the Globe and the Ottawa Citizen.

Someone who is creative and good at photoshop should make a big poster montage of all the different papers front pages. Would love to have that printed up at the UPS store or something...

Grabbed the Globe and Ottawa Sun. Sun has some amazing pics of the goal celebration, massive team photo as well as a recap of all of Canada's medal winners. Going to be getting them all laminated and put on my wall in my room to always remember the games.

Had saved the Toronto Sun on the day the Maple Leafs played their last game at Maple Leaf Gardens against Chicago until someone deemed it as just garbage and threw it out

The Ottawa Citizen offers reproductions of their front pages, and optionally mounted or framed. I assume other papers would do the same. May be a good option for the Gold Medal game.

Is there some way I can get the globe and mail from that day? I got the Star but from the descriptions above, it seems amazing.

I thought I saw the front page but I think it was the front of the sports section. I checked that link for it but what they had for the front didn't match my memory. I probably got the two mixed up because all the different sections were pulled apart.
